Box Dates?

I can only find a date on a couple of my dozen or so boxes. Two questions:

1) is there supposed to be a date on every box?
2) is that just the date the cigars were boxed or is it the date they were rolled?

that is pretty money, but i was trying to explain that out of 12 boxes, only 2 had dates. the fuente boxes have a date-like code, but was told that actually wasn't a box-date.

unfortunately, most NCs don't do box dates. I know Illusione and Pepin/MF/Tatuaje do.

I thought Dion stamps when they're boxed...and could swear I heard that the Garcias stamp when it leaves the factory.

Yea, as Kockroach stated, only a few NC manufacturers put dates on their boxes, and even those mean different things. On CC's though, every single box will have a box code or referred to as a "box date". If they don't, you may have a problem.

to clarify their point, you don't ask how to keep track of your 12 NC boxes unless you rock hard.

to address YOUR point, NC's suck at this. american general market is still concerned about "freshness", believe it or not. best you can do is track purchase date. if you are good with the shop/ site, you could even ask them when THEY got them. also packaging changes, like fuente's band change, pdr just opening their own fabrica over using the don lioncino (?) factory, etc.

also, in zirotti's defense, it would be a bigger ballet denial fail if he had pix up. this was a simple inquiry. just the subtext outed his phat stash, is all. o)

I've wondered about this. Mostly in reference to retailer's collections; hoping to pick up their older stuff instead of the fresh stuff. I hate picking up a stick at the B&M and smoking it only to realize it should sit for a few more months first.
