I mixed half a box of Illusione mj12 (in foil) with half a box of Viaje Summerfest torpedos with shaggy foot (naked) in the Illusione box to save some space in the humi. Will the mixing of these in the Illusione box cause any adverse effects in terms of the flavors mixing with each other? In other words, will the mediocre Viaje infect the lovely Illusione over time? :)

I have many cigars mixed in my humi, like everyone else. I am curious about different cigars in a closed wooden box, tightly packed, over time. Thanks

I agree with Dan. Unless they are "infused" cigars, there shouldn't be any risk to storing your cigars in the same box.

BTW - Great quote! Love me some Bill Withers... Use Me is my favorite.

I'm certainly not the person to give the official answer, but I believe that a couple years is fine, the flavors won't really begin to marry. It's the long term aging where you'd need to worry about the marrying of flavors, say, 5 years or longer and tightly packed in a box.

I've got cigars from all over mixed in boxes just like you say and they've been there like that since 2008. Just smoked one the other night that had been at the bottom of an Illusione hl box that was full of lanceros from all over. It tasted fine, had that aged flavor profile, could feel the softness of it, but I didn't notice it tasting like 15 other cigars.

This is my situation exactly. Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

They will completely disintegrate within a few weeks, leaving nothing but a box of tobacco dust and paper rings.

(....Thought I'd post the answer that you were hoping NOT to hear!)
