Just a heads up for the AR guys on here: The Noveske STS hit the market today. It's a cheaper, and superior design, to the current B.A.D.A.S.S. 45* selector (which I also love). I think I will be ordering one as my birthday present to myself.
More info can be found about it here: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=107061Noveske Rifleworks is getting ready to release a new selector for your AR15. The 60 degree Short Throw Selector (STS) is available with a long and a short lever, and in both standard and ambi configuration.
We spoke with John Noveske, and he pointed out a few things about this Noveske / Magpul collaboration. The lever is the one we saw released from Magpul for the SCAR, but Noveske designed a way to adapt it to AR15 family of weapons. The levers remain polymer, while the internal cam is machined from Stainless Steel and is nitride treated. The shaft and lever lock together and are held in place via a small screw which is hidden from all but the most curious. One thing we havent seen on an AR15 safety before, is a smoothed return throw. John said they worked on the safety to ensure taking the safety off was the same positive feel you were used to, but the return is lightened a bit. The idea behind this was for guys training all day, the on and off actuation would be a little easier on the thumb. We also asked John what the reason was for the 60 degree throw, he replied they had worked on multiple variations, and found that with a less than a 60 degree throw, in extreme conditions, the weapon could still be fired while on safe if enough pressure was exerted on the trigger.
The two big questions often asked are how much, and when can I get it. These will be available from all Noveske dealers and distributors, and while they have already shipped out on the new Nosler Varmageddon Rifles, it will be a few weeks until they are ready for individual sales. MSRP is $39.95 for both the standard and ambi models.
