Having been smoking my pipe more recently. I noticed that within pipe tobacco reviews they all have "room note" as a characteristic. Basically its what smell the tobacco imparts and if you're significant other will tolerate it or not lol. Have you guys notice that some cigars will leave a pleasant smell after smoking and others will leave a not so nice smell? It has nothing to do with how "premium" a cigar is as one which I've noticed that has always had a not so good after smell is with Padron Anniversary's. Regardless of if its the exclusivo to the 1926's to the family blends, all of them just leave a dirty ashy smell. They're obviously fantastic when smoking them, just afterwards, not so nice. I notice this more in my car than in the house but its the same. Interestingly enough. the best after smoke note that I've noticed are from Viaje's. Hours after smoking an exclusivo robusto for example there is just a faint smell which is something like a sweetish cedary note. Anyone else see or smell something similar? G1

I pay attn to the ambient aroma immediately during smoking and try to eliminate any "room notes" immediately after G! :)

My wife will actually sit outside with me if I fire up the pipe but when I take a cigar out there she leaves me alone lol. The only cigar so far she thought had a good "room aroma" was a 7-20-4. Is it wrong of me that I choose a cigar 99% of the time LOL.

I smoke outside mostly so the only real "room note" I get is when it's very calm and the smoke can drift lazily, otherwise it's gone pretty quick. But yes, some cigars smell better than others when they burn.

I don't really remember noticing any of them leaving a pleasant room note once done but some are definitely worse than others. I really like the El Rey Robusto's but they always leave my car smelling like a wet ashtray even with the windows rolled down. Their after scent seems stronger than some of the others I typically smoke?

Not really. My problem is if I smell cigar smoke and I don't have one, I get pissed. lol. That's about it.

The H. Upmann Magnum 46 leaves the worst room note in my opinion. I smoked one and over 12 hours later I could still smell it on my clothes. The cigar was fantastic though, so I will still return, lol.

I agree, the 7-20-4 does smell very nice while burning. Me, being in NH, am lucky as they are abundant around here. When I'm on the road though, it's tough to find them sometimes

We have a customer who lights up a tat gran cojonu every morning at 10am when we open up and it never ceases to get me excited for a smoke. It has such a pleasant bouquet, even hours later.
