So, my wife surprised me. I took her for her first round of checking out weapons, and she gravitated away from the Glock 26, in a hurry. What she wound up going for is the Ruger LC9... It's a neat little gun...

I, on the other hand, was being seduced by the XDm 40, but... I got my hands on the Glock 23, and it was a natural fit.

The G23 is my Glock of choice... Fits my hand perfectly barrel is just long enough so that recoil is manageable. Good luck with any further weapon purchases it gets addictive.

It's surprising how many women really like the LC9, I hated it when I shot it, but I think that's because my hands are just way too big for it.

Great buy on the G23, great all around pistol.

Purchase not done yet. I live in Maryland, so there's some government things that we need to get through, first.

Thank you, in advance, though.

Excellent choice. I'm always glad to see people choose Glocks over XDs and XDms. While Springfield has a nice gun - Glock (and other makers) have a MUCH better product for the price.

I agree 100% with MwLabel I carry a G27 everyday while able to. Glock is going to be one of the best deals for the money. What do you plan on doing with the handgun. If it's just for range days and home defense you might think of a 9mm. Less recoil and cheaper to shoot.

Fixed that for you. ;)
Negative.
The XD is a $300 gun from Croatia that they stamp their name on and jack the price way up.
Then you run into the issues of the higher bore axis and grip safety disabling the slide manipulation. If it was a $300 gun still, it would beat the crap out of the others. But, as it is the same price... buyers are getting hosed in the mechanical design.
