I smoked my first cigar a couple of months ago. It was an Oliva Connecticut Reserve, robusto from my local shop. Since then I've had 10-15 more smokes, all from my local shops.

My first few cigars weren't as enjoyable as they could have been because I didnt' really know how to smoke them. I was puffing a bit hard, and wound up having uneven burns; and some hot, harsh smokes. Having learned to puff gently and evenly, I'm enjoying my cigars a bit more.

My favorites have been Cain NUB maduro, Tatuaje Cazadore, Illusione Ultra Double Corona, Arturo Fuente MagnumR Robusto. I'm definitely finding that I prefer more full bodied smokes, though I haven't had so many mild smokes. I did have an Ashton Robusto with a connecticut wrapper yesterday and it was good, just not so satisfying.

I have a small, cheap humidor with a digital hygro, and two 69% bovedas in it. The setup seems to be working. Every time I open the humi it reads 68% and the cigars seem okay. I have a jar of crystal gel and some solution that I will try after the packs stop working.

I have Oliva Serie V Belicoso, Edge Maduro, Illusione epernay and ultra, Pepin Blue invictos, Joya de Nicaragua Dark Corojo corona and antano 1970 robusto, Viaje Late Harvest 648, Undercrown corona viva, Aging Room m356 robusto, Lito Gomez robusto (dominican puro), oliva connecticut, and punch petit corona (honduras), plus possibly one or two others. That's more than enough to last me a long time, plus I usually buy one when I smoke at the local shop.

I'm looking forward to trying a variety of smokes from different makers and regions. I'm particularly excited by the idea of smoking puros from nicaraqua, and the fuller bodied dominican cigars. And of course I'm curious about CC.

Thanks for reading my post.

Fitze, Thanks. I've gotten some good recommendations from my local shop. The Viaje was my pick after lurking here.

CO smokes, I'm in Bergen county, near the GWB.

Co smokes- cool, wykoff is 20 min from my house. Just a short flight on 208! Any good shops up there?

Reinado- I think I saw your cigars at Ruben's. I'll have to try one next time I go there.

sneak, CO Smokes, and any other BOTL members who are willing to come out... I intend on having a launch for the Reinado Grand Empire Reserve as soon as I return from the IPCPR show in Orlando. Will post up the date when I lock it down with Ruben but it will go down at his place in Hackensack! Perhaps this can be the NJ type herf we have been waiting for.... Let me know if you guys like the idea...
