My first thought was that it was going to be aromatic cedar (which would wreck your cigars) but the description does clearly say "spanish cedar" so it should be OK on that account.

Another concern would be the way the door opens on it since it may be kind of difficult to access your cigars from the front rather than from the top like you would in a traditional humidor. Finally, I wonder if it would be airtight? Since it is not designed as a humidor it may not hold humidity very well.

Just my 2 cents......

Just checked out the site, bigger selection if you are interested; none of the units have more than a magnet clasp closure so sealing would be up to you. Overall not terrible looking, but probably a pain to attempt making into a humi. IMHO

I have to put my two cents in. I have a 100ct humidor i got from CI, paid seventy or so for it. I have to have two of my "homemade" humidors in it to maintain 65% RH, I recently paid paid 250$ for a 500ct humidor from first class humidors, granted I prefer larger ring guage cigars and if I maxed it out I'd be looking at 400 sticks. Bottom line is yeah I had some problems, but with half the humidification it is sitting at exactly 70% rh and 70 degrees. It came with 3 humidifiers, I use one, worth the money and unfortunately the csr I spoke to has worked there for 12 years and never had this problem. Go figure, fwiw buy a real humidor, good luck brother!

Good advice there! i was looking at other options (cheap and easy mainly). Went to my B&M and started asking questions about other options and they said just go for a traditional humi and it won't be so much of a headache. Took their advice and picked up a Capri glass top 100ct for around 60 or so. It's been rock solid since day one.
