I have a couple of cigars that my brother in law gave me this weekend. He received the as a gift from a friend in the Dominican republic. They have probally just been sitting in a box on his dresser for a few months now. Is there any hope for them and what could I do? Thanks!

If they haven't been in the proper humidity environment for a few months they are probably going to be dried out and stale. Only way to know for sure would be to put them in tupperware or seperate humi (wouldn't want to mix them with my properly stored sticks) with some humidification device and let them sit for awhile. Then burn one and see if it is stale or not.

Really depends on where you are...

Here in E TN for example it's currently 59 % rh outside right now.... Rh will peak at about 80% today... And will average about 70% through the course of the day/night...

This time of year, sticks can stay "fresh" for a reasonable period of time just sitting out on the kitchen counter...

In Phoenix, where humidity is ranging between 15-40%... not so much....

That's what I was going to say but using the DR as explanation. Tj4orange, were the cigars in a box in the Dominican Republic? or in your brother-in-law's house?

1 - are these supossedly CC stix?
If yes, then I would probably just pitch them, unless you know they are from a reliable source in the DR.

2 - If they are not CC stix
Definately keep them in a separate tuppaware w\ a humidification device.
Bovida Pack or small stash of beads etc.

If nc and look legit (yes there are a lot of fake nc's in DR) then just store them for a week in tupperware like they said. I have had a few times when I found a stick that has been out for months. Smoked just fine...maybe a little fast but still have great flavor. Just my .02
