A newbie question here. I just got a Siglo Limited Edition VI in a nice metal tube. My question is, I assume I need to take it out of the tube while it rests in the humidor? Or can you just pull the tube apart a small way?

I would leave it out just to cut down on the chances of mold in case of over-humidification.

There are varying opinions on the subject. Myself? I take the cap off the tubo and place it in my humidor (rh 60-65%). I know that many BOTL prefer to take the cigar out and store it "naked". If it were a glass tubo, with a sealed cap, I would suggest leaving it alone.

I store my tubos cigars in there tubes unless there are extenuating circumstances (i.e., draw issues, flat flavors).
There is a company named "Siglo". He's not referencing a Cuban fake. It's a NC company that is using the Cohiba image and wording... but it's not claiming to be a Cohiba.

aha you cuban cigar snobs... when did he ever say it was a Habano??? There is a Siglo VI Limited Reserve Tubo that is a non-CC!

To answer your question, it's personal preference. A lot of people store cigars the way they came, some people like to take them out of the tubes to make sure no mold starts growing. I personally leave them as is.

I personally leave them in the tube sealed. I have smoked cigars over a decade old that have never had the tube opened and loved every one I've had. I buy quite a few Tubo cigars for long term aging.

I tend to agree with this and thought it odd that there would be a Siglo VI in a tube like that....I see them in the Caribbean and other islands but that tells me they are fakes. I tend to smoke a lot of the IV's and VI's and I'd be very skeptical of a metal tube. Smoke it and do a review and tell us where you got this from...would be interesting to note for others.

Now that is a horse of a completely different color as most of us were thinking this was a Cuban Cigar...since this is an NC then the discussion takes a different turn. As others have said cigars usually do well in the nude and acclimate to ones humidor...some like their cello on and I do that but I cut both ends off and use the cello as a barrier to keep other cigars from chafing it. I've received or bought cigars in metal tubos...I just take them out and put em in the humidor.
I also take them out of the tube to save space in my desktops

yes, i was a sucker for this. was on a US cigar website, and found this brand, thought it was a Cohiba being sold at about 1/6 of the price, and bought a few thinking i had struck gold. *facepalm*. being an Aussie who's not big on history, was yet to learn about the whole Cuban embargo thing. havent smoked it yet
