So my girlfriend and I were sitting on the couch and the dryer was louder than usual. After the load was done drying she gets it out and says she found out what was banging around, my wallet!!! Good thing I didn't have anything important in it.

I'm sure we have all left things in our pockets one time or another and they got washed and dried. What have you left in your pockets? Did it get ruined?

I washed an Ipod, in bleach. Discovered it when I heard a strange noise in the washing machine. It actually still worked as long as you kept it plugged in with the power cord. Remove the cord and it was a paper weight!

I've washed a couple of wallets over the years but aside from photos and a few receipts the contents usually hold up OK.

The one time that I had a real issue was when I left a pen in my shirt pocket. The load got washed and then transferred to the dryer before I realized it. Most of the clothes in that load were toast due to ink stains and the dryer drum was heavily covered in ink. I was worried that the ink would wreck any clothes that I put in the dryer in the future so I tried to scrub it off. What fun! Head stuck in a dryer trying to scrub the ink off. It just would not budge. Finally I came to the conclusion that if I could not scub it off it was probably not going to damage future loads of clothes. DOH!

So this time, instead of washing my wallet in my pants, I lost it! Good thing everything inside it could be replaced. Nobody will be finding it anytime soon b/c I lost it last night, while I was riding a horse, in the middle of the woods. On top of that, we probably got 7-8 inches of snow. Oh we'll, I didn't really like that wallet much anyway. Lol

I have washed countless pocket knives... usually didnt make the discovery until they hit the dryer..

made the mistake of washing a couple of fountain pens over the years... never ruined the pen... but have lost a couple of loads of clothes due to my stupidity..

wallet seemed to get washed about once a year for several years there as well...

I have learned to check every pocket on every shirt and every pair of pants as a result of the above.. and havent washed anything other than clothes in several years (loosing 5 or 6 shirts, and 2 or 3 sets of pants a couple of times.. all at once... will set you straight pretty quickly)...

All sorts of things, if it can fit in my pocket it's been washed. My wife never checks the pockets before she does laundry which is probably a good thing, never know what she might find!
