Well I was doing my daily check of the cigar websites and saw that cigar.com had this on the main page http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?brand=1424

I had never heard about these coming out which surprises me. I love Diesels for an everyday cigar due to the flavor you get for a low price. These though, are priced just like the Crucible, which I have yet to smoke though I do have one in my humidor. Well Ill stop blabbing, you can go to the link to read about it. I dont know if I will be going after these due to the price and it not really justifying why it will be so expensive. What are your thoughts? I think Diesel should have just kept to their production of high quality lower priced sticks instead of venturing into the expensive range.

EDIT: Here is a link to where it is at cigarsinternational.com. It does some what better job of celling the cigar, and they do 5 packs for 50 so it is a bit more reasonable, though I am still hesitant to pull the trigger.

I stumbled upon these today too. I tend to agree with your assessment about AJ sticking with making good $2-$5 sticks that represent a good stick at a great value over venturing into the super premium market. That doesn't mean I don't want to try a Crucible or this new Wicked though.... I just don't see myself paying $12+/stick for them with any regularity at all though.

Saw the ad in the CI catalogue that came in the mail yesterday. They were really workin' it hard. The UC is a great value and the Unlimited is a pretty good smoke too. Could be worth a try, but won't be going out of my way to try the new ones. I don't know where the $12 price tag javaman saw was, but if you buy a box it makes 'em about $7.86 even a 5er they're $10 a pop...maybe that's the singles price :dunno:. But still $7 is the price range of a lot of my favorite cigars and at $10 or $12 you're getting into the realm of some nice cigars...stiff competition, better bring your A game.

I don't know where I got that price from really. I was thinking they were $120 for a box of 10 for some reason. At $8 a pop, I like to try at least one to see if I like them or not. I definitely agree that the UC is a very good cigar at a very good price too.

They are 12 bucks a piece at cigar.com and that is what the crucible was. I didnt see anything on how many of these were made, did anyone else? I know the crucible was very limited.

Well I am going to actually light up my Diesel Crucible now and maybe throw up a quick review of it. If this one goes well, I might try the wicked out. If not though, I will prob stand by my thoughts that AJ should have kept Diesel as a lower priced gem. (I know that is bad practice to base off of just one cigar...but I am not going to shell out for a couple more 12 buck cigars to decide this)
