Troegs Splinter Black from 2010. I read the reviews last year and popped the cork to allow some of the overcarbonation to bleed off then I recorked the bottle and stored it for another year. So here I am in the middle of Hurricane Sandy and I'm drinking that along with Stoudts Amber 25 which is a nice beer (very easy drinker). One of my glasses I took a small gravity sample left from my imperial stout that is only 60% fermented. That improved the beer even more. It's appropriately thick and roasty with an alcohol presence after the addition of the partially fermented imperial stout.

Some over the past week or two:

I usually love RR beers but wasn't feeling this one.

This beer was deep! Very good and velvety!

Great IPA out of 'Bama

Mehhh... Was okay. Tasted weak and watery.

Nothing fancy, good middle of the road beer.

Best of the Black Hole barrel aged series I've had so far, and that's saying a lot!

It's a sweeter stout than I care for. Probably won't buy again.

A really interesting and funky beer! It's worth a try just for the uniqueness and brilliance alone. But, this can be a love it or hate it beer.

2011 FIS for stout day

I liked this... A great porter with a kick of heat (not overbearing) at the end.

Nothing memorable... About what the style should be.

Pure genius... Just a solid stout here.

Canned in 2011... It was gooda

Just not good at all... I wasn't impressed.

A DFH I actually like. This beer is worth a shot.

I'm not a huge DFH lover at all. Most have a huge malt bill that I'm not fond of along with a lingering sweetness.

And lucky you for the FW Sucaba!!
