Hello, My name is Jason, at 21 years of age I've begun my great cigar smoking journey with what i believe(to myself) to be a good start! I live in Southern California, as I've stated before, and I mostly purchase my cigars on line. While I have nothing against local BM's, If im going to stay within my budget and smoke the cigars i think i like(at this point i don't really know what i like, i suppose) there just isn't room for the overhead prices the BM's have. My journey into the tobacco world began at the age of 18, with some cheap machine made cigars, the names of which aren't worth mentioning. I enjoyed these for a while thinking "Surely these aren't that bad" Until i moved to California to work for a mobile air-conditioning company.
On one of my first big jobs(providing air conditioning for a fashion show in the Palm Desert area) I discovered a very nearby BM store, and decided to pay a visit. I, knowing nothing of premium cigars, asked the owner what he would advise as a good beginner cigar. He pointed me in the direction of a "Por Larrañaga"(fairly confident it was the Honduran one) which appeared to me to have a Connecticut wrapper. Unfortunately I've never been able to find these same cigars since, though since then my tastes have changed and they would likely be too light for my tastes. It was however an eye opening event, as the difference between this premium cigar and the cheap machine made cigars i had been smoking until then was mind blowing, there was no comparison.
TL;DR:Hello, I'm new here and look forward to meeting people and discussing various cigars and related subjects.
Cigars i enjoy: Perdomo[SUP]2[/SUP] 2008 maduro, Sancho Panza double maduro, Tatuaje La Casita Criolla(an all american 'gar!) Gran Habano vintage 2002, La Gloria Cubana serie r, and many more! I'm still in the early stages of my journey and open to suggestions, Im always looking to expand my tastes.
Also I apologize for my long windedness, its simply a habit of mine that i make no effort not to indulge in.
