I'm going to Hawaii in January and was wondering if there were any shops/lounges that I should be sure to check out in the Honolulu, Hilo, Kona areas?
Thanks for any info
The cigar scene in Hawaii is small but slowly growing. There is only one shop on oahu that has a smoking lounge - Tobaccos of Hawaii on Atkinson Drive. They are also the only Liga Privada account in the state. The rest of the cigar sales around Oahu are mostly wine/liquor retailers that also sell cigars.
R. Fields Wine Co. 4 Locations with the Beretania and Kailua stores having the best selection. They carry a lot of boutique brands as well as the more ubiquitous brands like General and Fuente.
Fujiokas Wine Times has a couple cabinets stuffed with lots of selections of mostly boutique brands and other solid choices like My Father, Tatuaje, Alec Bradley, Quesada, etc.
SWAM Wine in Aiea. Small cabinets but a very good selection of boutique brands including RoMa Craft, PDR, Tatuaje, Fuego, etc.
Tamuras Fine Wine 5 locations but the Honolulu, Aiea, and Aikahi locations with the best selections. Also lots of solid brands they carry.
On the Big Island, there is Kadota Liquor in Hilo and Mothers Antiques and Fine Cigars in Hawi which is more on the kona side.
If you are still in town on Feb 10th, there will be a big event with the Garcia Family (Don Pepin, Jaime, Janny), Pete Johnson, Robert Levin with Ashton Cigars, Rocky Patel, and General Cigars at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Should be really nice. LMK and I can send you all the info.
