Wow, I've never had one but they sound great! I'd love to here from Drew if these are really #9s ... seems odd that they'd do that considering the scarcity of the #9 wrappers. Maybe they use a different priming for the wrapper?

I can't find these on Famous except for in a couple samplers, and those are much lighter wrappers than the #9s ("Natural" they call them).

I remember having some with the same band in a different vitola. CG or corona I believe. Not that great and not the blend or maker described in the review... Got them on the Famous auction site a couple years back.

There were actually 3 lines. The 681 was supposedly the Liga blend and only came in a Robusto. This is the only one I tried and they were great.
.
Then there was the 143 Blend which only came as a Lancero

The last blend was the 52X and had a Connecticut wrapper and came in 3 sizes.

The 681's disappeared quickly after word got out. The other blends were available much longer but they are also gone now.

I fell in love with the 52X for a morning smoke. To bad they are out of production now. I still have a box of the 52X belicoso put up...........Its going to break my heart when they are finally gone. ;)

I remember when Famous was selling these on their auction site...I tried a few and WOW was I surprised at how close they were to the LP9's...I bought 4 boxes of these on the auction site at around $40 per box and little did I know how lucky I was to get them...they are about as close to the LP9 as you can get and when they were discontinued it was a very sad day...but at least I have two boxes left. It was around the time when they stopped selling the Capoeiras on the site as well...these went for $30 a box for the Graduado and Professors...these are great cigars with 6 months of rest on them.

I seem to have forgotten, as well.

Damn those do sound tasty, wish I knew about them...may need to try and get my hands on a few!
Good luck with that. Unless Jonathan supplies us with more cigars, they're sold out forever. :frown:

Smoke 'em if you got 'em boys!!

Scored a few of these thanks to a fine botl here and another who pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!

Now I will need to do some of my own experimenting to get to the bottom of this!
