Post up your SCARs!

Pic is from some thanksgiving fun with friends from some chicken-shit, pussy-ass countries where they don't allow guns anymore. It's a shame this table holds $25K worth of shit on gunbroker currently. Not bragging here, just commenting on how fucked up the market is at the moment.

Up top is a LWRC M6A2 with DBALI2 and Surefire Vampire. ATF cashed my check for the 308 can, so hopefully I'll get some good news in the next few dozen months :p

Sweet pair! It's insane how mad the market has gotten

I didn't like my scar (16) as much as i expected, ended up going back to an DI M4 platform. I felt my current build held better accuracy and had less recoil (as most DI have compared to piston). As far as reliability, I have yet to have a malfunction in any of my 5.56 platforms, not sure why people say they are finicky. As long as you don't treat them like trash, they will run for 20k+.

That being said, I really did enjoy the SCAR, I just liked the M4 platform a bit more (I like the different options available)

Now a 7.62 AR platform is a different story. You really need to invest in the upper tier to get uncompromising reliability

how does the 17s handle the larger caliber?

I really wish all this would just go back to normal so I can afford to shoot again, no way am I paying over .75¢-$1.00 a round for 5.56.

If I ever pick up a .308 semi, the SCAR 17 is a high contender. Beautiful machines.

I certainly dig your style, sir. Post up when you get your can!

The trigger and the slower ROF on the scar is a downfall IMO, but i did like the ergonomics of it. With the sheer massive amount of ARs out there, you can make a pretty nice patrol rifle

Slower ROF? You mean to tell me you can consistently run your trigger finger faster than the SCAR can cycle?

Easy there turbo. Class 3 weapons as discussed above. I found the FN to be like the old german mp40s, kinda jackhammerish, while m4 platforms dump the magazine pretty smoothly.

And ive never liked FN triggers. Love the rifle, hate the trigger.

That is a perfect way of describing the recoil. I was at a loss for words. I haven't shot an NFA Mp40 or Scar, but their semi brothers both have the same metal on metal push feel to them.

I will say that a SCAR is a perfect candidate for a can. That platform will outperform a DI in all fields there!

I'm not a piston hater, I just know what works for me and like to stick with it

My 17 has a ~4lb Geiselle trigger and a battlecomp on it, so you can just hammer it and the recoil impulse is flat. The Battlecomp works wonders on .308 to keep the red dot still.

I swear, battlecomp has some sort of dark arts witch doctor working there, those things are unreal! I know 5.56 is not a recoil heavy platform, but I'm a firm believer in fast accurate follow up shots. That's why I chose 5.56 and 9mm. But the battlecomp takes the minimal recoil of 5.56 and makes it barely over a 22. If I do my part, The rifle will shoot like a laser beam! I can only imagine what that would do on a 7.62 platform!
