Just received my drawers from Forrest (Awesome I must say) for my vinotemp 34. I have 1.5 pounds of HCM beads that are in there right now. They've been in there for awhile (2 days) and I went down to check on things today. As I am looking, I notice that the humidity is REALLY low. As I am looking around, I notice that the top left part of the door is not sealing correctly. What I mean is that the rubber seal on the door, between the door and the "frame" of the refrigeration, is not sealing perfectly like it should. I can see a little bit of light through the gap. It's hard to explain but the crappy part is I am past the return date (I got it at a Crate and Barrel over a month ago and they have a 1 month return policy). WHat really sucks is I have my first CC box on the way and I will have no place to put it when it gets here if I can't get my fridge fixed. The only way I could do a quick fix is to put a bungee cord around the thing to "force" it to seal. This would work, but I was wondering if anyone else has any other ideas.

Sorry for the long post, but you can imagine my frustration....:crying:

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks brothers.

You could buy a replacement gasket directly from vinotemp. It is $47 plus $15 to ship for the 34 bottle. Shouldn't be too hard to install. There are many how to videos on you tube.

I would take it back to crate and barrel. Explain what you're using it for and why the broken seal is a big deal and see if they'll take it back. A good company will make an exception. Never used crate and barrel so I don't know how strict they are but all they can say is no about replacing it right? I feel like the seal problem woukdnt be an issue for someone using it for wine so hopefully they will work with you on it. .02

stinks that it happened after the month thing. If you cannot return it, maybe some layers of duct tape or even window insulation can fix the seal if you don't want to spend money.

I thought so too, but they washed their hands of it. I can't say I blame them a ton, but yeah I did try to explain. And Dustinspo, I appreciate that thought, but I am looking for a slightly less expensive fix. But thank you!

Because American express and Visa provide their own insurance on almost any product you buy with your card. I always make big purchases with my visa debit card, charge it as credit, and the insurance covers my purchases. Seeing as ot was a gift, this does not apply lol
