Hey guys,

From time to time I tend to comment on here about various cigars that I like (tatuaje, padron, cc, etc) but I have yet to try any of the Liga Feral Flying Pigs. A shop close by my work has a handful of these for $17 plus tax; are these worth it? The only 2 liga's that I have ever smoked was a No 9 Robusto (which I did'nt like) and a T52 Flying Pig which was pretty good. Let me know if this Liga is worthy of the Padron pricing structure!

Thanks!

They are worth what consumers are willing to pay for them. And I have seen consumers pay a good amount higher than $17. My recommendation would be to pick up 2 to smoke and make your judgement. But dont wait too long to smoke them, they dont stick around for long in B&M's.

Not imo, but it is definitely one you should try on your own. They are a good cigar, no two ways about it, but the flavors have always struck me as being too mild. But, to each their own, you should really throw down the coin to at least try one.

It was worth it for me. Hefty 2hr smoke. Glad I tried it. Hunting them down is the hard part haha.

The new Liga Price increase puts them at just above 17 MSRP; if I found a box for 170 I would purchase it. There never gonna be cheaper than they are right now; the longer you wait and reminisce about the "old price" the better chance it will go up again before you have a chance to buy.

I would pay that in a heartbeat.

Here in Minnesota where cigar taxes are 70% of the wholesale price it is not uncommon for them to be priced at $25 plus.

FFPs are worth what consumers are willing to pay for them. I can usually find them for $15-$17, but have seen them as high as $19. The flavors are phenomenal and I would hesitate to say mild. I think it's a strong medium cigar with complex flavor nuiances. Definitely a cigar I smoke on the back porch, by myself, so I can enjoy it and give it the attention it deserves. Pay $17 and give it a try and see what you think.

Its' all relative. I paid $15/stick for my box, and that was worth it to me (very few cigars are!). If you have trouble locating them at that price (which most of us do), and you can grab a single for $17, I'd go for it! As with any cigar, I suggest a few singles before going for a box (unless you want to trade the box to ME of course!).

In MN they are probably at least $20 after taxes, but I'd still do a single for that price if I had to ... then again, I love all things Liga!

$14.95 is the current MSRP - local and state taxes can increase the cost and some retailers bang the price up - I have noticed some non-LP retailers buy them at full retail and then reselling them at a mark-up... STS

After the last increase the MSRP is higher than that according to the catalog I got from Ozzie last week. $16.10 is what I see.

The FFPs are more reminiscent of the #9s than the T52s, IMO. So if you do pick one up, while I don't think you'll regret it, I don't think you'd be likely to buy a 2nd, either.

I like them but don't think they're really worth the price you pay. To many other cigars that come in below that I'd rather spend the money on. To me they're a med-full with good flavor but not overly complex. They are very consistent and burn well, so no complaints about construction or quality.

This is more or less what I'd say. Pretty sure the FFP and No9 have the same Broadleaf wrapper so pretty decent chance that you might not like the FFP if you didn't like the 9. Still worth trying to see for yourself, though.

I didn't like the first #9 I tried either, but I have really enjoyed every one since. They are worth another try. I did enjoy the FFP, but not as much as a #9. I'd steer clear at that price. Glad I bought mine the first time they were around.

I've only had the opportunity to smoke one FFP at a DE event. I thought it was fantastic and I paid around 16.50. There was only one box and there was a limit of one per customer, so that shot me down pretty quick, but I'd have bought a box at that price to have one every month or so. It tasted like a more developed and complex No. 9, and it had a great draw for a 60RG. I've never had a T52 pig, but it definately didn't have the spiciness I associate with the T52 so if that's what you are looking for you might be disappointed. FWIW, and with only smoking one, it is still on my favorites list and I wouldn't hesitate in reccomending it.
