Heya all. Im a Neb smoker and don't have a B&M local to go to so ill ask for your advice for a smoke for the wife. When I got started in cigars the wife told me as a ex cigarette smoker she didn't want to try a cigar with me. After our last trip to Florida and nights of sitting out with me smoking Padrones she has decided that as long as I'm working on a Padrone 1926 natural robusto she would be happy to "share" it with me. Her idea of share is you light it for me and get it down 1" or so then ill take it and you'll have to start your own...lol Im looking for something that's close to that stick that will be a little easier on my pocket book. Have to say its good to have a someone to smoke with and its fun watching her dig through my humidor to se if there is anything left over from our last trip. good thing she hasent found my travel humidor because ive got one stashed!!

My wife used to love the Oliva V Lanceros. Her favorites now include Tatuaje and Fuente.
I started my GF on a small, flavored cigar... didn't quite like it. Then tried a very mild, house rolled Connecticut... still not quite there.
She took one puff of my 2012 BOTL lancero, and refused to give it back.

well, the obvious choice is some padron thousands. the core padron is fairly cost effective for what they are, and age BEAUTIFULLY. i try to keep 2K mad and londres mad on hand at all times, and bury a box for at least a year as soon as i crack one.
also more than a little envious of y'all who can actually smoke with your ladies, mine DETESTS it! then again, i get quiet space, and we share quality time over the PS3, so i really can't complain too much. o)

paddy 2000 is less than $4.50 at my local B&M.. and you can usually find them online for a good bit less than that.. especially if you are willing to buy them by the box...
another cheap option is the nica libre 1990... if youll lay them down for a few months.. they taste quite a bit like the padrons to me... you can find those for about $2.50 a stick from the bigger online discount shops if youre willing to buy a box.. great daily smoker (IMHO).. also great stick to introduce someone to cigars with (again, IMHO).. doesnt cost much.. but is pretty easy to smoke.. etc...
Mine started with Tabaks from DE and since found a fondness for anything Fuente. She has also been know to go through more than a few PCR's but has settled on just about anything with a Cameroon wrapper. I started a drawer for her in my humi after I really got into cigars and just started putting in random singles and she worked through them saying yes or no until she found a few that she enjoys. I would agree that the Padron regular line is an easy choice but she may also surprise you with some of the other smokes she may come to enjoy.

actually, you want to branch out, maybe a few tat's like the 7th reserva or the noella? small makes ladies feel dainty, but big bold flavors and smooth texture go with her padron itch. plus, y'know, an excuse to stash more tat's.

Is it wrong to elicit 'favors' from your wife for premium sticks? Hypothetically speaking of course...
The 2000 taste the same as the 4000?? I heard aging those will make em taste like the anniversary!

I would recommend these as well.
Ouch, that would be a hard one to let go of.
My lady enjoys the CAO flavors.
She loved the Padron maduros, another good one is the Tatuaje LCC series. Aged up 6 months or more, they are smooth and delicious (and fairly cheap, can be had for around or under $100/box)
She hated the DE flavored ones she has had. Not sure if there was a reason, or if she just didn't like the amount/type of flavor she got
