Ok, so I know there's a 2005 thread here with a lot of cigar blogs but many of them closed or stop adding content. So, we need a list of good cigar blogs, an updated one. I believe this could be a good resource for many of us that read reviews, not as "law" or "absolute standards" but as references and to give us ideas about cigars we wanna try or have already tried.

I know MANY here do not like blogs or bloggers, and find some of them annoying, obnoxious, arrogant and whatever. I do find some guys pretty sarcastic and arrogant but honestly, I don't care right now hehehe. All I want to be able to have a list of cigar blogs for future and present references. Help me out guys.

Let's make a list of blogs you read, like or dislike. I will try to keep the list updated.

There are some really good blog(gers) out there who are able to write about this hobby w/o having to resort to being douchy or arrogant and just talk about the merits of the hobby and that bodes well for the spirit of this great thing we all share here. What I have seen far too often in the last couple of years is the enthusiast who feels they have to try and get others attention by being arrogant or too opinionated or where they feel they know more than others. We share commonality in a hobby we enjoy and that is where it should begin and end and not try to make it something that it shouldn't be. A cigar has always been something to enjoy...to savor and sit back and relax and be around those who enjoy a good cigar as well. I've met and enjoyed cigars with people I know and people I don't know but it's always been enjoyable because we have conversations that are interesting that begin with a good cigar. Bloggers who follow this line of sharing things with others is what keeps them going and they have a lot of people who follow them. They help to educate those of us who are either beginners or have been smoking for decades and it's the sharing values that make this hobby what it was intended to be. Good forums are a plus in this endeavor to set a high standard of commonality as well but truth be told....there are those who tend to want to make things uncomfortable for those who don't follow the lead by those who tend overpower a Forum with their personality. Cigars have always had the history of being a Gentleman's habit and that has inspired a very good following and I hope that trend continues. For others the Cigar Hobby has been given a black eye because of the anti smoking lobbys who try to attach a visual label of a beer drinking degenerate with a half smoked stogie sticking out of his mouth and saying something stupid....that isn't the typical cigar smoker that I've seen in the last 40 years.

This is such an "interesting" topic to me. IMO, there are about 2 or 3 authorities that I really follow and believe what they are talking about, then there is a handful of experienced smokers who I trust their opinions, and then there are a bunch of guys looking for free sticks. I think for the most part, we all know and would agree on the top sites - Halfwheel, Cigar-Coop, StogieFresh, etc. Then, we've probably heard of some of the other top spots - TravelingStogie, NiceTightAsh, StogieReview, StogieGuys, TikiBar, etc. And then there are some new guys on the block - SmokingGreek, Longfillers Lounge, RobbyRasReviews, Casual Cigar, Epic Ash, etc.

Does anyone know of a blog that pairs cigars & drinks?
Casas Fumando, Leaf & Grape and Stogies On the Rocks do a lot of cross over stuff that might fit the bill of what you're looking for.

I agree with you. I recently went into a blog searching for some reviews, and one of the reviewers had a bad experience with ONE freakin cigar, his conclusion? "I won't visit the brand, cigar or the line ever, cuz it was suppose to be good but wasn't" I was like: "What the...?" Yet, it was funny tho that his partner found a cigar from the same line "really good" giving it "91".

Another for cigar coop and halfwheel. Also getting into leaf and grape since he has started posting more often.
I started read Leaf and Grape because he started posting more often. I heard of it like 2 weeks ago...

Yeah I thought is was a little different than a blog but of I'm not mistaken anybody can post a review? Figured some of the people here may like to as well.

Cigarexplorer.com is on hiatus at the moment and I'm not sure what will happen to it.

I (who did the writing for the site) have taken a position with Cigar Press Magazine.

Mario (who did all the video) has taken a job with Drew Estate.

Technically Mario and another third party own the site and I'm not sure what their plans are to do with it.

Just FYI

Dan
