Thanks! This simple method has me considering buying some premium cigars. I'm considering AF exquisitos and a couple of Tatuaje Petite to get me started.

Appreciate the help everyone!

Yup.. Thus begins the downward spiral! I'll echo all the suggestions of Tupperware and humipaks. Cheap, but very effective.

Rocky Patel taste like campfire wood and tree moss.

..I'd skip the dry cured and go with a tupperdore or a jar with a humipak. I have a large tupperdore with just cigars and humipaks that is rock steady RH...for a year never having to do anything to the humipaks.

So you took a random jar/Tupperware container and dropped your cigars and humipaks in it and called it a day?? How many humipaks do I need?
You need one.

no need to coat anything.. just make sure you get a jar or tupperware that has a very good seal (snap ware seems to work best)..

throw in the sticks.. throw in the humidipack.. and you are done..

if you want to get fancy, you can put some foam in there or some other item to keep the sticks from rolling around and damaging each other during transport.. but its not necessary...

Here is a "tupperdore" I use for overflow, and occasionally for travel... $7 for the snapware.. $10 for the cigar foam.. and $3 for the boveda pack.. $20 all in, and Ive got an excellent way to store/transport 30 sticks.. take the foam out, and I can store as many as 60 churchills (did that just a few months ago)..

If you dont need/want that much space, you can go with a smaller piece of tupperware.. and potentially drop the foam.. and for less than $10 all in you would still have a way to store 20-40 smaller sized smokes..

Yeah I agree there are plenty of affordable options that far exceed any backwood or swisher....storing cigars as many have mentioned can be done on the cheap around 4 bucks for a large boveda and a few bucks for a Tupperware container....or send me your address and ill send you some cigars a cutter and boveda? You will enjoy nights camping or anytime much more bro!
Shoot me a PM I appreciate the offer!

Cheers
No problem man I just hope you stick around/ enjoy this wonderful hobby.

Mine is rather big and I have small humipaks(that I got for free from receiving orders online) so I have multiple...like others have said, if you get the larger one you'll only need one. Just make sure to air it out first so the plastic smell gets out(you can also use balled up newspaper).

I PROMISE this will give you better RH control than buying a $100-150 humidor at a fraction of the cost.

Kentucky cheroots and Ramrods were old favorites of mine before I hit the slippery slope of premium cigars. I'll have to admit that I still enjoy the Ramrods every now and then although I very rarely smoke one anymore. I like them in particular because they are bourbon infused which gives them a great taste and smell.
they sell Ramrods @ Racine & Larame here in Old Town SD. Gonna pick up a few and try them just to change things up a bit!

i haven't seen ramrods in years (and it just hurt to type that sentance out, but there you go).

another passable machine made pack is the villager export, both natural and maduro. villagers and parodis in my glove box at all times. o)

oh, and you are going to LOVE a tupperdor!
