Hey just wanted to ask a question about I hone issues.

My SIL has an old iPhone which is just a iPod now. The problem is the kids put a password lock on the phone and no one is admitting to it so no one can get into the phone since they don't know the password. Anyone have any ideas on this.

You could possibly change it through itunes, but more likely will have to go to an Apple store.

It should unlock when you disconnect it from the computer use to connect it to iTunes. If it doesn't you'll have to do a reset which will erase everything.

Do you want to reset it or access it? Resetting it is easy. Just hook it to a computer and put it in DFU mode. http://theiphonewiki.com/wiki/DFU_Mode

iTunes will tell you it found a device in recovery, and that you can reset it.

If you need to access the phone without losing the information on it either-

Use the previous step but then restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup.

Hook it to the computer that it is synced with. Then you can backup and restore (which removes the password).

There is sometimes a third way but you won't find as much info on it due to the potential for nefarious use.

Fortunately that does not work, else there would be no point in having the password.
