My 8 year old intel duo macbook is starting to fall apart on me after many years of abuse, especially lasting through college. It still works like a champ but it's time for an upgrade. My question is, is the retina display really worth it for the new macbook pros? Anyone here use one and totally love it? Pros, cons, any comments welcomed

I was recently looking at the MacBook Pro with the retina display, and to be honest I just didn't see that big of a difference between the two options so I went for the standard display. Thats my 2 cents.

Retina display is my preference! I love the clarity when reading or watching HD movies!

Agreed. It really depends on your usage. If its for working and browsing web pages maybe not. If you watch a ton of movies or edit photos then it is worth the extra expense.

Only get the Retina if you get the 15" since it has the discrete graphics card. Its a beast of a machine. You're also getting a superfast solid state card in this beast as well. These things are CRAZY fast. Also. GET THE APPLE CARE. Any repair on this thing is going to be at least $600. PM me if you have any questions.
