Our first born is due June 2 and it's a boy, but I don't want the cheap "it's a boy" cigars. I am open to any suggestions of some good stix to share and put back for a few years to enjoy later. I don't have a huge budget for them right now due to trying to get ready for his arrival, but I am hoping to expand that with birthday money in April.

Thanks for any help!

I am planning on buying a box of 20-25 and as far as money I'd like to stay under 150... Of course the wife wants me to stay way under that, but she just doesn't get it. Lol

A lot depends on the target recipients. If most of your friends are hardcore cigar smokers, something mild like the Fuente Brevas is perfect. Or other similar... mild, inexpensive smokes.

Cigar Solutions used to have "It's a Boy/Girl" tubes....which would allow you to use whatever cigar you want. Not sure if these are still around.

Honestly if not a lot of your buddies are hardcore cigar smokers, grab a box of the It's a Boys for like 60 bucks I think they are, and then a 5 pack of a smoke you really enjoy. Pass out the It's a Boys and you and a few buddies sit around at night with drinks and the good smokes.

Instead of just buying one box of something specific anyway.

Another option would be Joya De Nicaragua Celebracion cigars. You can usually find them at a decent price or even on the online bid sites. I have used them many times for various "celebrations". Medium smoke that look and taste good. Just a thought.

I am a huge fan of the La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor, at the prices that can be found online I think it might be the best value of any cigar I buy. I find myself smoking/giving away more of these than just about anything else these days. You can get a box of robustos for under 150 easily, just look around a little.

Are you looking to have a box to age/ smoke on your child's B-day or pass out to everyone for the celebration? Other question others have asked what's the experience of the people that will be passed one?

WOW!! Guys thanks for all of the suggestions!

I was reading online the other day and read where a guy bought a box of like 25 and gave a few out, then put the rest in the humi to age and smoke one on every birthday of his child. I thought that was a really good idea and something cool to do. I only have four maybe five people that I plan on giving them to if I do that. Two of them are pretty experience d smokers, and the other three smoke but don't really know enough to tell what is what.

I really appreciate all of your suggestions so far, and it looks like I have a day of research ahead of me while I'm at worl. Lol

I actually have my first child coming in about a month (April 26th due date) and I thought it would be cool to buy a box of something, smoke one every year on his birthday, and then smoke the last 2 (assuming it was a box of 20) together on his 18th birthday. Of course, that's easier said than done.

I can tell you what I am doing - I bought a box of the "Its a Boy" cigars (and bubble gum ones too) and I'll pass those around to those who don't smoke (often) and for anyone that will appreciate it, they can just take something out of my humidor with me.
