I love variety, especially in cigars. That's why I learned early that I had to save box purchases for only my favorite sticks. If I smoked the same cigar twice in a month, that meant I REALLY liked that stick!

But lately, I've been marking a trend in my smoking practices, namely that I've started narrowing my repertoire quite a bit. This was not intentional, in fact I just noticed it this week.

But for the last 4 months or so, I've smoked at least 1 of the followings cigars nearly EVERY WEEK:

Tatuaje Black blend (Mummy, Tramp Stamp, BPL, etc)
Tatuaje Thermonuclear blend (Avion 12, M80, FT114, FT140, etc)
L'Atelier (regular line, and Surrogates Bone Crusher or Skull Breaker)
Liga Privada Unicos (UF-13s, FFPs, L40s)
Liga Privada or Undercrown (#9s/T52s, UC CVs and DCs)
Cromagnon (original and Aquitaine)
Viaje Exclusivo blend (mostly lanceros)
Padron Anniversary (mostly '26 and FR)
Cuban Cohiba or Montecristo

I keep hearing about new cigars and I think, "Man I need to try that!" but then I don't, I just keep smoking what I've been enjoying. In fact, I'll sometimes pick out a stick the night before thinking "I'm gonna smoke this tomorrow!" and then change my mind to a Mummy or something in the morning, lol.

What's funny is that had I seen this last year, I would have said "I'm in a rut!" But right now, I don't feel that way at all ... couldn't be more content cigar-wise. Of course I can't keep this up, or I'll run out of cigars to trade for the stuff I'm smoking like crazy ('cuz it's mostly the pricey stuff, dang it, lol!).

NJ if your enjoying what your smoking then so be it. Your palate has become refined and you now know exactly what you like and enjoy.

Trying new things is a bonus but if you love what you got enjoy.

Cheers,
JM

We all do the same thing after a while...

I still enjoy trying new stuff... And probably burn 4 or 5 sticks a month that I haven't had before or that I only tried once previously, etc...

But I've got a core of probably 15 sticks that I know I really like and stick with for regular smoking... These represent the bulk of what's in my stash...

Solid list of daily smokes there. I'm in the same boat as you haha it seems like new smokes are constantly coming out and I think "That seems like one worth trying I'll pick some up when the next check comes in." Pay day comes and I buy more of the stuff I've already been enjoying smh.

I do the same thing these days. Last week, I put 5 fivers in my cart at Atlantic. All new stuff that I had never tried. By the time I hit the "Buy" button 20 minutes later 4 of the five packs were sticks I have been smoking for a year. There are so many good "established" production cigars that new stuff just doesn't make it to my humi like they did in the past. Herrera Esteli being the exception lately.

I find myself doing the same things and when I branch out its a love/hate thing.

My standard go-to's are :

Bolivar
Ramon Allones
Tatuaje Brown label
Illusione 88 and CG4
Pepin Blue
Reinado

Recent branch out sticks that I like are:
La Palina ED KB I/II
RoMa Craft Aquitaine Anthropology

Now I just need to try some more stuff... I love changing it up, but hate wasting $8 on sticks I don't end up liking.
