Hey guys just thought I would post ramblings from a newb. When I was trying to decide on my lunch smoke today I came across a few sticks that found there way to the bottom of my humidor and was forgotten. I chose a Joya de Nicaragua 1970 Antano lancero that i got on trade about 6 months ago. It had a light white cast to which as Im new I wasn't sure if it was plume or not but sitting in the sun with my chosen stick I noticed it sparkled in the light so im guessing it had the start of plume. One strange thing about this stick was its draw. During the draw i noticed it would get tighter looser then tighter again. It had a taste that i can only discribe as a cola taste with wood and a light earthy finish. i would say its medium to full in strength but the flavors built up to full at the end as i still have the after taste as im sitting at my desk writing this up. Weird draw aside it was one heck of a ride for the hour that it lasted. The room aroma on this was bordering on floral and even my secretary came out to say that's one of the best smelling stogies that Ive smoked around the shop. I se how some people get hooked on aiging cigars if this stick is any indication on what a smoke can do with age. Now i just need to keep the wife away from my humidor because these i think are right up her ally!

You didn't say how old the cigar is, but if you didn't see this "plume" 6 months ago, it's not plume. Plume takes years to develop, not 6 months, sorry.

Lol. Mold is something us desert dwellers don't deal with much. I think our rh outside today is just up to 10% . If it was mold sure had a nice taste (Jk)

It's weird I have had sticks with only a few years on them that have had plume. Gussy that sounds like a great experience love the JDN 1970 great stick and great price plus imho they age quite well for sure.

lmao...Anyways nice smoke! I thought the one I tried tasted slightly similar to an Oliva V lancero. As far as the draw getting tighter and looser could have been from smoking past a part of the cigar that was packed a little tighter, just a guess tho.
