I am a relative cuban noob. Long post short, how long should I sit on these guys before firing them up? My objective is to find some I like, buy some boxes and smoke them slowly and age them for a few years. Maybe its better said to ask What is the appropriate wait time to get a good sampling taste since I obviously don't want to age a bunch of singles for years. Thanks in advance.

Since you just have singles, I'd let em rest for a week or two after arriving. Then, I'd smoke em all. Kind of tough to age when you only have one, and I'm hearing the 2011/2012 tobacco is really good. You may even decide you like the cigar without age.

I just bought a few Cohiba Especiales, (Awesome!) and it turns out they were from 06, so a couple might already have 3-5 yrs on them.

Good luck, and keep us posted as you work your way through them.

Thanks, I love that answer. I am clearly not aging a bunch of singles so I figured I would give them enough time to acclimate to the humidor (2-4 weeks) and then start firing away. Unless anyone can think of a reason to advise otherwise.

Let em rest a bit & smoke away. Great way to test the waters before buying boxes. Good luck & enjoy the ride.
