These things are fascinating creatures for me. I'm amazed that every single culebra that I've smoked has had an immaculate draw and burn (many Tat Old Men, an LFD, and another, which I can't recall at the moment).

I would love to hear from one of the many cigar manufacturers who frequent these parts, or anyone else who has knowledge. How difficult is it to make these? How is it that you can buy a short, fat robusto that is plugged... yet a skinny, twisted lancero smokes like a chimney? Are these difficult to roll, like a figurado? Curious.

I love culebras as well. Every time I want to scoop up a box of black lanceros or stumble across ET OB, I remember that I can just pick up more old man and the c, awkward to store but cheaper per stick!

I think the fact that they will be braiding them leads them to packs them less full, which also helps prevent plugging. Mostly just speculation though, I have no proof of that.

I only have one culebra and it's a Davidoff. I've tried another but I forget which one it was. I would love to see / have an Oliva V culebra as well as a Tat culebra but I've never seen them for sale.

They're a bit awkward to smoke, in my opinion, but the Oliva Serie V Culebra is still the best cigar I've ever smoked - just immaculate.

I keep looking at the culebras, I haven't taken the plunge just yet, but I keep hearing good things about them, so this might just be in my near future

I always see these in my local B&M but I e never pulled the trigger on buying one. That's an interesting video and I may have to give one a try.

Any suggestion as to which I should try first. On a budget of course.

Reminds me I need to buy some of the Illusione culebras. See if they match up to the Tat's
To my palate, they do. I've had the Illusione several times, and I prefer it to the Tats. Thanks to Danny, I just had the Tat black culebra at the beach herf. Dave showed up later with another one - I think it was the El Tri. Fun times.

I've had a few of the Tats and really enjoyed them. I think its a nice touch that it becomes a "communal experience" smoke when you split between three people and smoke them at the same time.

The communal nature of them is a pretty cool aspect. I was given one by mdwest at the east TB herf, and enjoyed it. I was a little worried about the indents made from the strings holding it together, but it didn't seem to cause much damage.
