Hmm that's weird, I went to the drew estate site to try and talk to CS from there, and it looks like the site is down. It says 'coming soon' maybe they are redesigning....

While I like the design of the UF-13/Dirty Rat box, it really does not secure the cigars properly. My box of UF-13 was in great condition but, I could see where the cigars could lose the pigtails easily.

I had the same issue and my vendor replaced it with no questions asked. I had to wait 3 weeks but I got a brand new sealed box and the cigars were in great shape on the 2nd box.

just to clarify, PLEASE contact your vendor first! while JD and SS are on here, and both do participate, don't pee in their cheerios unless you have to. i personally like that they come here in large part to play, not work. the vendor, as a liga account, should make things at least somewhat better. why else are they a liga account, right? failing that, i wouldn't have an issue PMing them through BotL, or trying email to DE.

and that REALLY sucks for you man, what a heartbreak! keep us posted and hoping for a positive end to this. o)

I wasn't trying to pee in anyones cherrios, I was just asking if anyone on here had a similar experience, and it seems like a few have. I did contact the vendor first. I also sent an email to DE customer service via their website and haven't hear back still. The vendor asked that I ship them back and get a refund, so that's what I did. Looks like I'm back on the hunt for a box again.

Update: still haven't heard back from DE customer service, which is very strange, they've always been awesome in the past. Their website was down that day, so maybe they never got my message...

What is it that you're expecting from Drew Estate? They may give you their condolences but it's up to the vendor to deal with the claim.
Well nothing now, but any kind of response would have been nice. I originally asked them if I could send them the damaged box and exchange it for a new one since the vendor was out of stock of course, as I and others have had them do this before with damage issues. But since I didn't hear back, I shipped back to the vendor and got a refund. But it's a little odd that I wouldn't have gotten a reply at all right?

Well, at least you got the money back from the vendor, when it comes down to it they are the ones that should handle it. Drew Estate is very good about service though but they get crazy busy sometimes. Trust me..

Well, you already got a refund... so the issue is resolved, is it not?

What would their response be then, "Thanks for the info. We are glad the vendor was able to resolve the issue." ?

Yea if you already went through the vendor and they gave you a refund all you can do is wait for another box DE isn't going to send you a box, I know personally when I received a box of busted Herrera Estelli Lonsdales in the first wave I sent pics to DE just so they knew what was up and the vendor was out of them so I paid for shipping to John Brooke at DE and he said if they were in fact damaged he would swap them out and send a replacement when they had them, well a week later I got a box of Herrera Estelli Robustos in exchange for my Lonsdales because they just sent what they had and did not have Lonsdales. Robusto was my least favorite vitola to that blend and Lonsdale and Corona was my favorite so upon receiving the Robustos I smoked a couple didn't like them as much and bombed the rest of the box out. It is what it is, a handmade product and shit happens! I didn't expect free shit from DE nor do I still in hindsight I should have just got my refund from the vendor and waited for them to come available again but I didn't and ended up paying the Lonsdale price for Robustos plus twice the shipping and I probably got on DEs shitlist for that or will be on it after this post. By all means I do not mean disrespect to JD or DE because I am DE4L but it might be helpful for people that keep posting stories like this to know the best option is going through the vendor.

No because at the time I wrote them, I was hoping to do what DStan mentioned above if they had more UF-13's in stock at the factory, just get a direct replacement. I hadn't gotten a refund at the time I wrote DE CS so their response should either be, sure send it back to us, or sorry we're out too, go ahead and get a refund.

@DStan Trust me, you wouldn't be on a shit list for that. JD and the crew at Drew Estate take constructive criticism very well. It's what makes them a better business. I am guessing that was a honest mistake as well or they just thought it would be okay. I do agree with you though. I prefer those other sizes. I think things just get insanely super busy and mistakes happen sometimes.

I would say especially with the Unicos and Ligas because they are made in smaller numbers by less people and basically a limited production cigar compared to the Herrera which is a regular production cigar they would probably be unable to swap the box but luckily your on botl and I am sure brothers are willing to share to make sure you get to smoke some of the new UF-13s, you should be able to find another box eventually just like the pigs with a little effort anyone can find a box of those. But in the meantime glad the vendor helped you and I am sure the vendor would probably put you at the top of the list to call when they get another box so a little time is all your out and in the meantime while you wait there are plenty of other great sticks out there to burn and enjoy!
