We all know the cost of freedom. I thought i would post this a little early.

A friend of mine was killed in Iraq by an IED in 2005. Staff Sgt Michael Durbin was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Iceman I just wanted to say bud I miss talking to you. 26 is too young to leave a wife and three kids behind. You will always be remembered by those who knew you.

I want to take time to thank everyone of you that serve our country. You make me proud to be an American.

Well said and sorry for your loss. While we are enjoying our freedom this weekend, lets at least take a moment to know why we can. Thanks to any and everyone that has served. Have a great weekend, all.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Your right, 26 is way to young to go. I hear a ton of people say negative things about today's youth. So I have to say that these kids are so SELFLESS, they volunteered to protect us. To me that says they have a ton of character. I hope each and everyone of them comes home safe and sound. Both mentally and physically. There's not enough being done for these returning veterans.

Thanks for sharing your story! RIP to all our fallen soldiers and Thank You to all who have served. We take so much for granted and don't really realize it or think of it until you hear about a 26 year old losing his life for our freedom!

Being a person that bleeds red, white, and blue this holiday has alot of special meaning to me. I come from along line of vets and served myself. To all families and friends who have lost loved ones that served I truly wish you all a very gracious Memorial Day...and may God bless those still serving and keep them safe.
