...I was thinking about the massive amount of smoke billowing from it. So I do some searching on Googel and find some great info on LPs from Steve Saka that he posted on another forum that I'm not a member of. While reading that and while enjoying the rat, I just think wow, how the head honcho of a well respected cigar company can go into great detail on the rolling style, QA/QC and the marketing of Liga Privadas etc on a cigar forum created and frequented by fans of not only his, but every cigar out there. He has about 3 or 4 lengthy posts on there and is a definite must read for anyone interested and who shares the appreciation for these primo sticks. I'm just not sure if I can post a link to this or not per BOTL guidelines. But everyone out there can find it without much difficulty.
Every time I light up any LP, I will have much more of an appreciation of how much care and detail goes into each of these beautiful cigars. Glad I just procured a 6er of UF-13s from ATL.
Now I'm going to have to try and find them all... Damn, I was holding off on smoking the LPs, cuz I was scared this would happen and I would love them. There is a reason why everyone goes crazy for this stuff!

dude, just dig around here! SS and JD both have dropped in with some significant insight on threads here, set us straight, stirred up a little bit of stuff once in a while (always a couple of haters, but hey), and generally shared the love with this board. why do you think they threw us a limited? o)

but, yeah, hearing SS roll out his knowledge is always a pleasure!

I've seen what Saka has posted on other forums, and I'm pretty sure he's said the same things - almost word-for-word - here so you can find it if you look.

I love the Rats as well, but try the L40 - it is "tuani"!

Even if you aren't a fan of the brand, you don't see many other guys in their position that act like part of the community. I've even seen them bomb BOTLs.

Then on top of that, they make some great cigars!

Reasons I'm DE4L:

1. Steve's clear passion for the cigars. His willingness to put out his thoughts on the industry, on DE's thought processes, on what he personally thinks about things, etc. His interaction here has been awesome.
2. Jonathan's clear passion for the fans. Dude and his crew are always willing to go above and beyond for everyone, both here on BOTL and at events, etc.
3. They make some of the best cigars in the industry. No matter the price, I've yet to find a Liga clone. They don't exist. Ask anyone "what smokes like a Liga Privada No. 9" and no one will have an answer, because nothing else does.
4. To be honest, the aesthetic is pleasing. It's icing on the cake, but their presentation, packaging, and overall branding is my favorite in the industry.
5. Their customer service has been top notch. I've seen them take care of brothers all over the place in all sorts of situations, most of them not DE's fault. I've seen Jonathan personally bomb BOTLs here. I got bombed by Steve once. I've seen them go out of their way to ensure people with issues are made whole, or better than whole.

Yep, all very cool. I have had a couple L40 s so far. They are magnificent. But since they are so hard to come by, I'm saving the last one I have for a special occasion. But besides that, the dirty rat, a 9 in a couple different sizes and a T52 toro, I haven't had any other. Should say that I did have the Fritas and like it, but it wasn't in the same league as the others for me for some reason, but I should probably do a few more before I judge...

Anyways, I just think that they are a non-traditional cigar company. The Rebirth of Cigars means that to me.

Thanks,

I've been fortunate enough to smoke a couple rats, and I love the way the smoke is so velvet like and smooth. Even the Undercrowns are like chimneys. Its great!
