Cigar Bombing

I know on this site they have the newbie cigar bombing/trade thing but just in general how do you guys decide who your going to send a bomb to? Do you always know the person? How do you gef their address? K am new to the cigar blog world and was just wondering.

One I have never met a person on this site in person(yet). Target can be anyone you have interacted with or someone completely random. Addresses are easy to come by there is always a brother willing to throw the other one under the bus.

I usually pick people that are going through a hard time makes it more rewarding.

It happens in all different ways. You may or may not know the person and decide to bomb them, I only just recently met a few other brothers but I had already bomb others for fun.

You may see them do something nice for someone else so you think they should be hit back. Maybe you see that someone is looking for something that you may have so you send it off to them. Heck I was all sorts of smacked around when people found out it was my birthday.

There are a decent amount of brothers on here that just so happen to be bus drivers as well, so addresses can be had pretty easily.

It is also not required but a lot of fun to talk some smack while bombing the other person. Unless of course the reason your doing it doesn't bode well to it.

Weather crystals in the pylon? I'm sure that reference was lost on about 90% of the people on the board LOL. Having grown up in the 70's watching Land of the Lost on Saturday mornings though it hit me squarely in my nostalgia bone .

As far as bombing, it's all about the theory that it is better to give than to receive. Major life events (weddings, graduations, birth of a child, death of a family member, surgery, personal tragedy, etc.) are all good reasons. Sometimes the victim is someone that you have a lot in common with. Sometimes you see that they are suffering and want to cheer them up. Sometimes you see that there is something they are dying to try and just decide to send them a treat. Do it openly, do it anonymously, do it once in a blue moon or once a day. Any way that you do it can be very fun and highly satisfying.

As far as getting addresses, the best way is to check your victim's trader rating and see who they have traded with recently. These people should have an address that they may be willing to share with you. If not, I (and many others) keep a spreadsheet with the addresses of people we have interacted with. Just ask around and you will find a way to become a mad bomber...:thumbsup:

sometimes it is like applause for someone who has earned it. sometimes it is a hook up for someone who might be missing out on something you really like. or have spares of. sometimes it's more of a positive grudge, like buddies or siblings fighting to pick up the check. sometimes the coffee grounds tell me things.

I've been only on the receiving end and I can the you that the brotherhood is something amazing.

I have not yet been able to gift to these amazing brothers as of yet. You'll know when it feels right. I have found the target already and I promise you this when you found the person you want to punish with kindness it just feels right.

Just try out the newb trade so you get the hang of it then let your wild side roll.

I've not done much here, but I did and do at my other cigar forum. It's generally one of those three things Java mentioned. Sometimes you just want to show someone appreciation for being a contributor to the community, like a guy who continually helps out other BOTLs or has a lot to add to the conversation in a positive way. Other times you know there's a guy who's going to appreciate the stick waaaay more than you, so off it goes. And most of the time it's two buddies trying to get one over on each other for bragging rights. There's a lot of trash talk involved, but underneath it all is a brotherhood and camaraderie like nothing I've seen elsewhere.
