So I don't plan on moving out of my state anytime soon, but I have always wondered what is the best place to live for a cigar smoker? Mainly wondering for inside the US, but curious about outside the US as well. So what do you all think would be the ideal place for a cigar smoker to live, taking into consideration taxes, laws, places in the area, etc.?

Japan is pretty awesome for cigar lovers :)

Within the US, I think anything in the south is probably better, as most of the northern states seem to be passing ban after ban. Sadly, I'm moving back to MN next week, and you can't smoke anywhere there.

And you get the lovely tobacco tax!

No tax in NH on premium cigars yet. We're still selling the Fuente Fuente Opus for $13 which is pretty cheap compared to some of the prices I've seen posted around here. Relatively easy for a tobacconist in NH to get a liquor license too. Not to mention the lack of a sales tax as well..

All depends on your criteria though, as mentioned previously

The cost of living and the creeping taxes are three only set back. But I can smoke almost 365 nights a year...

But don't expect to smoke one on any San Diego beaches... Out lawed. Or in any parks. Our in any state parks... Yeah, those cigarette smokers have messed it up for us and the nanny state is alive and well.

I cant really complain about TN...

Weather is excellent 6 months out of the year.. and reasonable another 4... you really only get one to two months of brutally hot weather in the summer and a month or so of really cold stuff...

tobacco tax is reasonable...

cost of living is low...

and since we are in tobacco country (a LOT of pipe, cigarette, and chewing tobacco is grown here).. the community as a whole is very tobacco friendly..

Florida for sure. No tax, good weather most of the year, no need to smoke inside in the winter months, humidity close to where you like, cigar shops everywhere, etc.

Anywhere but Jersey. They go out of there way to make it hard to enjoy a cigar. I was on the beach one time and I was told that there was no CIGAR smoking on the beach. Really????

Visited Vegas for IPCPR and the cigar/smoking culture there is pretty cool. You can smoke just about anywhere in Vegas and taxes didnt seem outrageous. Plus there was some good scenery near by. Here in Kansas taxes are lax, smoking lounges are on the up and up, but there is nothing to see here.
