They aren't to horrible at least I don't think so lol. You know we could always live in Cuba or Nica
The Canadian taxes are crazy high, in BC anyway. I don't even care to visit cigar shops when in Vancouver/Whistler as I would be paying at least 3 times what I am now. Crazy ass prices on singles, much less boxes.

As was mentioned above, gotta say So Cal. I've lived here most of my life so naturally I'm a little biased. There are so many different environments here. You could go to the mountains with snow, down to the desert, then to the beach all in the same day. There is a pretty outstanding B&M not to far from me too! It's not outrageously humid during the summer like the east coast and the deep south either so no mosquitos to worry about while your on the porch.

I think part of the requirements would be that it's somewhat easy to smoke cigars. Cali is definitely not that with high taxes and anti-smoking laws everywhere. Granted I would much rather be in Cali smoking on my deck/yard rather than being in Seattle during the rainy winter!?! LOL

Well I have to say I can't complain too much abut md/dc area which I always specify because there's a big diff between here and Baltimore md and then md/pa area. I have to say tho I'm in nc right now which is a tobacco state and it's cool to smoke at most of the spots with a patio that I've called so far. I love being in Vegas cuz you can smoke just about anywhere they're not serving food. But between my yard when it's warm and a handful of bats when it's cold I'm good in md/dc. Now about those gun laws ... Lol

Charlotte, NC has a plethora of cigar shops. Two very high end B & Ms that carry everything you could imagine. There are also smaller shops that have some great boutique blends. Not hard to get what you want.

Florida for sure. No tax, good weather most of the year, no need to smoke inside in the winter months, humidity close to where you like, cigar shops everywhere, etc.
Florida is where I live and there are shops everywhere in central FL. The I-4 corridor from Daytona Beach to Tampa is a ~200 mile stretch of fantastic B&Ms. Not to mention that I get to smoke 12 months out of the year outside, although January can be a little chilly. Prices are some of the best as well as I travel frequently and see some real doozies sometimes.

Chilly in January? 25F is a balmy January day here, if there aren't 40mph winds. I've only been in FLA in January once. It was 55-75 when I was there. Was hoping for 80-90, but hey I took 60 when it was -30 back here. Would love to get back down there and check out some of the sweet shops in the Tampa area though... Any time of year!

LOL @ "FL is chilly in January!" I smoke in my garage in Seattle with a space heater in Jan. when its 28F and snowing. I grew up in FL and took the weather for granted. If I could make the same money there I'd be there in a heartbeat!

I know, I know. It's all relative. I grew up near the Mason-Dixon Line, so I know cold winters. I also travel all over so I get to experience the -20f days sometimes too. However after living here for 21 years my blood has thinned a bit. I guess I've just gotten soft. Anyway, the point is that FL is a great place for cigar smokers.

No offense, Seattle and the Mason-Dixon Line are a walk in the park compared to North Dakota (heavy on the north). I know a guy that froze his nose so bad one winter that he's got a permanent big purple ring around each nostril. Poor guy, it's hideous.

LOL, it is relative, as you say.

On a yacht.

The End.
Heh. I was going to say "in a motorcoach" when I read the subject. I'm not much of a water guy "oh hey, look...more water!" But I can't get enough time in my RV. Don't like a town, fucking move. Cigars to expensive, have em shipped in, and then go where it's nicer. Smoking while you drive the country and see everything, the best.

I'd say Spain would be the best, weather and price wise. Also, smoking puros is, won't say integrated in the culture, but it's not frowned upon, to say the least. Runner up in that regard would be France.

Germany would also be ok - some bars allow smoking inside (a increasingly rare thing in Europe), as well as Italy and Switzerland (though the prices are very high there).

And people wonder why I hate the damn cold, I grew up on eastern Long Island in New York, so I'm familiar with snow, I'll keep my happy ass in Florida, and put on a jacket when it hits 60, and long johns when it hits 50 lol ;)
