I have not had one. I think you should smoke one and do a review. Most of the BOTL is not particularly fond of Gurkahs, so it might be while before someone else chimes in.

On a side note, have you seen the Big Lebowski?

I think I may have had one early on but I don't remember. Sean is right, there are not a lot of Gurkha fans on here. That doesn't mean they are not good because I have friends that love them. Give it a smoke and tell us what you think. I am curious to hear what you take is on it. I have a Black Ops I may try tomorrow that a friend wanted me to try, so maybe I'll join you. ;)

I noticed that and now I'm thinking I should not have got them. I got sucked into the world of cigarbid.com. I got them for $34 so I figured to give them a shot. I'm going to try one either tonight or tomorrow. I'll give a review.

No I have not seen The Big Lebowski

The problem with Gurkha is you have to weed through so many sticks to find one or two decent ones. So much to the point that most here reach for a brand they know won't disappoint. It's easy to justify buying Gurkha when you can get 50 of em for a buck on c-bid, but common sense will tell you that there is a reason for that.

Just because most don't like them doesn't mean you wont. Give em a shot and see, if you like them then you got them for a great price, if not then you have something to hand out to buddies that aren't regular smokers and yard gars.

They won't stay your buddies long if you hand em Gurkhas, haha

I personally would very much appreciate a review on them. The only Gurkha I've had is the evil which was a disappointment, however I think it would be good for bros to start reviewing Gurkhas so that we can weed out the sub-par smokes, maybe I'll pick up a grab bag of them with my next purchase to help! I know that most of us disregard the brand completely but there may be a couple hansotia blends that are worthy...

I just smoked one of these. They are just ok in my opinion. They are a smooth, mellow, light bodied smoke. The draw was even. The aftertaste is not bad at all.

I would never pay retail for them, but the $3.40 a stick I paid for them is not bad. I won them in an auction.

Would I recommend them? No, not for the MSRP. But I am going to finish the 9 I have remaining.

I second that. For starters, it will keep you off cbid for a couple hours...
Ok, that was pretty funny.
Thanks. I try - with a piss-poor success rate, but I try.

As for the Gurks... well, I have smoked about 5 Gurkas in my life. One was smokeable, the rest got mu'd. That one was made by PDR for Gurkah, so I'm not too pumped on the idea to keep going when there are so many other sticks out there that aren't made by a ding-dong with a "flood the market" approach. Besides Gurkah's attempts at "disruptive branding" are really starting to grind my gears: Black Ops? Wicked? Ninja? Come on! Who are they selling this to, Beevis and Butthead? Are they cross-marketing these sticks to the same disillusioned man-children that whack-it to batgirl comics and smoke after their LARP sessions?

You should really do something about that...

Ya I canceled my cbid account. I can see it being dangerous. The Big Lebowski, I'm watching it tomorrow.
Good man. I promise I will not lead you down the primrose path... I mean, the devilsites aren't dangerous because sometimes you can find a pretty nice deal or land a box of something you like but no one else does. You just have to know how to swim across the rip-tide so as not to get sucked in - there in lies the danger.

I had a great gurkah gohst that had the Brazilian apricriapa (sp?) wrapper that the new JDHR is wrapped in. Pretty tasty. Don't judge a book by its awful reputation haha
