Drew Estate NotRex
My name is Hoshneer....
You know I realized today that I have been a member of this board for awhile now and have some very strong friendships on here. You guys really don't know that much about me besides that I'm kinda a goof and I like posting weird pictures.
So let me give you some back story on some of the most important moments in my life. In 5th grade I transferred to a public school and met the woman that I was going to marry. I swear, I knew I was going to marry her the first time I met her. Oddly enough she didn't believe me until about 6 years later and after some really horribly awkward dates. She changed my life though and we have always been best friends. It's weird, we have been married 14 years and have never had a major fight.
Let's see.....
I guess about 16 years ago I found out my father had a terminal illness. It was COPD and it was actually the best thing that ever happened to our family. My Dad always worked non stop and when he was forced to retire I finally realized who my father was and I found out the guy I had taken for granted all those years was really just like me but he had been put in a different situation. My best relationship with my father was during the last year's of his life. He was a Vietnam vet in the Marine Corps or a f&$#ing Jarhead as he would say.
In 2000 I got a job in the town he lived in as a custodian for a local middle school. My wife and I moved in with my parents and helped pay the bills, so my mom could take care of my father while he was sick. It's a tiny lake house that was about 600 Sq. Ft. We had to walk over the bed to get in our room.
A couple years later my father passed away and we decided to stay here with my mom and pay the bills. We have since remodeled the house and we have a much bigger bed room and a nice lake front view. I still work at the same job and I love my work. I have often thought about changing professions but then I remember that this job affords me the luxury of free time with my wife and family. That may change someday, since we don't have kids I could spend more time working.
One last thing I want to mention that has changed my life drastically. I had a friend that died in Iraq by an IED. This was early on, he wasn't a close friend but he did change my life. When I was at his funeral I realized that life is easily taken for granted and so are the things that he and my father gave so much for. I also realized that my father may have not died in the war but I know a piece of him did. These are things that are given to us as a gift, something that was sacrificed so that we can live to our fullest, whatever that may be. I wear my friends dog tags as well as my father's everyday to remind me that these things do not come for free. So yes, I am very patriotic.
This is a little bit of who I am and since I consider you guys close friends I wanted you to be able to put an idea of who I am in your mind.
Seriously, I f#&*ing love you guys.
