I just garbed this guy for $40. It doesn't cool but that's okay as I am located in New York and don't see it being needed. The draws pull out so I'm thinking of using the hardware to mount in shelves, wire in 4 computer fans ( one blowing up and another down) in the lower and upper sections and then use a 1 1/2 lbs of beads. I'm open to any suggestions as this is my first time with such a build and any insight is helpful and welcome.
Thanks folks!

Looks like an awesome pick up. Sorry I missed this somehow. I would put multiple hygometers at different levels to make sure it is circulating correctly. I don't have a wine cooler so I am not much help

Is this unit going to be box storage or daily smokes. Keep in mind the more you open it the more rh will fluctuate. You placing your beads all in one area or spreading them through the unit? I have know guys here that use old cigar coffins to kind of disguise their bead storage. Just a thought

You don't have to over think it, if you dont want to. Since I put HCM beads in mine, I haven't worried about fans or a hygro. If you do that kitty litter bullshit, then yeah-put that stuff in.

I'm fairly new to cigars so I buy a lot of 5ers and single as I am experimenting to find my "perfect" smoke. So I'm in the midst of getting draws built (singles and doubles) and a self to store a few boxes when I come to the point. I also have 2 desk tops that will be for my daily and weekly smoke. I've only see guys use stocking and aquarium bags for the beads. What are the coffins you speak of?

This!

I know some guys swear by kitty litter, but I cannot speak highly enough about HCM beads. They are THE BEST!

Ive got the exact same set up..

oasis XL at the bottom of the cabinet... and 6 coffins of KL distributed throughout...

I add DW to the oasis every 6-8 weeks or so... and thats it.. almost zero maintenance.. and Im in and out of there at least twice a day on average..

Not too bad for an all glass front 6'x 2 1/2' cabinet (at least I dont think so)...

I keep 3x hygros in there.. one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom..... honestly.. thats overkill.. I dont really need that many.. but I had them on hand.. so in they went when I set up the cabinent (with the digital read out on the oasis.. I guess that really makes 4 hygros..)...

keeps a rock solid 65 RH throughout (+/- 2) all the time....

That looks like it's bigger than a 28ct wine cooler, I would get more beads to help the cooler recover quicker after you open the door.

Md is it the N'finity? Mind posting some pics for me?
N'finity wine cooler?

No... I've got a cabinet...

I used to run a little 12 bottle Emerson wineador.. But I quickly outgrew it...

Sadly.. I'm not too far from outgrowing the cabinet now... And will probably be looking for a 24 bottle cooler that I can hide in the closet soon...
