I'm headed to Wrigley this Saturday to watch my beloved Cubs lose yet another game and will be staying the evening. I'm going to hit Tesa Cigars but is there any other place that I absolutely should stop at? It does need to be in the downtown area.

I would recommend checking out Iwan Ries.

19 S Wabash Ave Chicago, IL 60603
+1 on Iwan Ries. I was just there last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is on the second floor so I was able to sit right by the front window and watch the EL trains go by. The retail operation is only open until 5:30 though so get there early if you want to see the full humidor and pipe tobacco selection. The lounge is open until 10:00 and there is a $15 cover. You can bring in your own cigars or they have a cabinet there with a small selection to chose from. You will also need to bring in your own beverages and you are free to bring in adult beverages as well if you so desire. If you need to pick up soft drinks there is a CVS just up Wabash from the shop.

Casa De Montecristo is an awesome shop but it is hard to get to if you are staying downtown without any transportation. If you do have a rental car and the time however I would recommend you make the pilgrimage there as well.

I would recommend Tesa Cigar Company 1039 W Lake St, Chicago. They have their own blends which are awesome, great atmosphere and great people working there. It's also a BYOB. Can't go wrong.

There is an awesome free app on the iPhone called CigarShopLoc where you punch in the location and it gives you a list of the Cigar shops, their ratings (sometimes) and how far away they are from your location. It's great!
