I am still fairly new to the cigar world and I am trying to get out there and sample new things. I was directed to the Cigarbid.com website and I have heard good things about Gurkha's so I outbid someone at the last second for a fiver of the Ninja knifes. I am hoping they are decent to sample, they definately didnt break the bank (which worries me a little), but I am not quite ready to do this as a noob. So any feedback on this stick while I await there delivery would be great! Thanks

Gurkha doesn't get a lot of love around here based on some of their marketing; hundreds of styles, some crazy price points, etc. But long story short, smoke what you like. I've not personally had a Ninja Knife stick, but I like Castle Hall by Gurkha quite a bit. It can be found for a good price and a nice, but not dynamic flavor. Good for knocking around when I'm not really focused on the stick I'm smoking.

I'd be interested in knowing how you like it, post up a review!

I would consider the Ninja one of their better lines, so I wouldn't worry about making the purchase. It's worthwhile for you to try it out and even if you don't like them, there's plenty of other people that you could share with that would enjoy them.

I've personally only had 2 Gurkha that was worthy of another round the cellar reserve and the ghost but its what you like that matters. There brothers on here that like white owls so its all up to your palate and what YOU enjoy:)

Myself the only Gurkha I ever loved was the shag. Ugly box, and ugly stick. No marketing really, just let thecigar speak for itself. That's how I like it. To go with what everyone else has said, smoke what you like. Keep in mind though that for the price of most Gurkha's you can find many great sticks in that range, sometimes 2 sticks.

Agree with the good Rev. Cellar Reserve is good and I'd buy it if it were less than $9 a stick. Most of their stuff tastes similar and is pretty weak.

For the retail price ghurka asks for they aren't worth it . if you can get them on the cheap like you can at cbid they aren't bad.

I don't like the insinuation that the Ninja approves of Gurkha. The Ninja does not. :D

That being said, I've had a few ones, the Cellar Reserve was actually quite good, the Crest was ok, and there are a couple others. The Triple Ligero was actually pretty decent as well, thought it's now discontinued. I have actually heard that the Ninja is decent, so you're probably lucky there!

Finding a good Gurkha is like looking for a needle in a pile of crap. You'll eventually find what you're looking for, but why spend your time smelling crap?

My real problem with Gurkha is not the cigars, its the fact that rather than put all their effort into making genuinely great product and letting that speak for itself, they spend their time marketing gimmicky lines that use bland tobacco.

I am actually smoking one of them right now... I am not a fan of the draw. It almost feels like im sucking air filled with smoke. I hope that made sense lol. But I like a little more effort in sucking in the succulent smoke! But I agree with most of the reviews as bland. It is not one of the best. As I stated before, still fairly new, but I had a friend bring some over for a cookout one day and he brought some Acid Kuba Kuba. I am not a huge fan of the flavors but once in a while, but besides the sweet flavor, the cigar actually was pretty good. I enjoyed that flavor. I also was given a stick of an Artruro Fuente? if that makes sense. One of the reserve blends. Back to the review, its not a terrible smoke, but I would prefer something a little more flavorful and I guess tighter rolled? But I will continue to smoke sense I got them for a dollar a stick!
