I went to the 49er vs Vikings preseason game today with y brother, uncle, and a friend. We were all decked out in our Vikings gear except for the friend who was our token 9ers fan. Tailgating was great, we found a spot a lot of Vikings fans were gating at so we were with good company. During the game some 9ers fans gave us trouble but it was nothing we couldn't handle. On our way back to Sacramento from SF we stop at an In N Out in Vacaville for dinner. We just got our food and start eating when a group decked in 9ers gear walk in and start razzing us. One of them gets in my brothers face and my brother told him to back off. That was when I jumped out of my seat but some other people grabbed the 9ers fan and pulled him back. The 9er fan then got in the food line and kept shout "Vikings suck" etc. etc. Two other guys enter the place, one a Vikings fan the other a 9ers fan. The same guy that got in my brothers face mouthed off to the new Vikings fan and the Vikings fan friend pops the ass hat in the mouth and it turned into a brawl from there. I know people like to talk a lot of crap about Raiders fans but I have been treated much better by them. This was some BS over a stupid team. I mean WTF?! It is not like the team even cares about these guys. ARGH! Jut frustrating trying to have fun and this crap breaks out. I am just glad my brothers kid was not with us.

You are right in the way that 9ers and Raiders fans act. I was a Cali native for most of my life (Modesto). Went to many games with my family, they are split down the middle as far as which team they root for. I personally am a Miami and N.O. fan...so I could care less. However, my uncle is a Raider fan...belligerent

I noticed this as well. With three people running onto the field during a preseason game, you know something is wrong. (I happen to be a Vikings fan as well) Also, on a related note, after the 2012 World Series (which the SF Giants won) there was rioting in San Francisco. RIOTING. After you win?!?!?! Anyways, long story short, I hate San Francisco....

That's crazy!! I thought the Ohio St guys were bad but it usually just talking and they keep it moving. Even after the game at a separate location they wanted to keep it going? Nuts!!

I hear you guys it's pretty crazy over rioting in Canada we Vancouver who burnt down almost half the city during the Stanley Cup finals against Boston.

I am truly one of the biggest sports fans anyone will ever meet and I don't understand fighting over a bloody game (one your not even a part of). I've witnessed my share of ridiculous fights during soccer. I'm Portuguese and I've see. Soccer fans definitely get out of hand.

CA it's going to here that you guys are safe and out of harms way. Sorry some sports fans shouldn't be allowed to drink or reproduce but that's for a different time.

My Dad went to see the Hawks play at the Stick a few years ago and said he never cares to go back after the experience he had. You wouldn't think it. But I guess SF is one of the worst cities to go to and catch a game, if you a fan of the oposing team.

The only sport I really enjoy is hockey but I never understood why people get so tough guy over the team they support. Its a freaking sport, a little razzing I understand but for the most part you both have something in common and enjoy watching.

Being from California, the locations of the Raiders and 9ers stadium are in bad areas and there is no reason to even go to the games. The stadiums are old, no good food, and you always need to watch your back.... better to just watch from home.

Sorry you encountered such crap fans... people always seem to think they are invincible when they are in groups. I am a 9er fan, but I sure hope they got what they deserved.

P.S. If you want a good football experience with family... check out a Stanford game!

I hate those kind of fans, every team has em. some more than others. It's just a game people don't know why people get so worked up. well gald you and yours are ok.
This. Does suck you want through it. Have heard this about almost every team. Esp about the eagles. But yea, they're everywhere. Hopefully with the new stadium, it'll curb some of the assholes.

It was just a bad experience. I have been to a lot of other 9er / raider games and there was always an issue but most we would walk away with no problems. Same with A's and Giants baseball games. I just don't get the whole fight for my team thing. I am a HUGE sports fan but it is just stupid to fight someone because they root for another team. I think it would be boring if we all rooted for the same team.

Yeah I'm a Cubs fan, don't feel sorry for me, and when we play the Sox there is always a few fights at Wrigley. Some people will use Any excuse to act stupid in public...
