Just a thought... We hear a lot of buzz about certain lines (Liga, Fuente, Tat, Padron) and deservedly so, but IMHO this is the absolute best time to branch out and try smaller lines. The array of quality smokes being produced by small operators has (as far as I've seen) never been better. In this a comparison to the craft beer and whiskey trend is apt.

How about trying something totally new? The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to try something every couple months or so that is under the radar and briefly report on it to the bretheren in the Today's Smoke thread. Give some very small lines a try, I think you'll find some new favorites and your reports will help us all expand our knowledge and appreciation for the great work so many folks are doing in this industry.

I've really enjoyed the new 1502 line and have tried all 3 of their new offerings https://www.facebook.com/1502Cigars

One thing I recently did was browse through the vendors at IPPCPR and the videos posted by the bloggers there and decided to sample a lot of the new stuff out there w/ some orders online. It's one way to get variety in your tastes.

If I could make a small suggestion. Rename the thread something like under the radar or something. A little more along the lines of what your looking to do. Keep the guidelines in there also. Just a thought

I'll give you a couple to try.
262 Cigars. I like them all except the Revere. Not my cup of tea. Plus they have a Lancero. Bonus.
Nomad Cigars. Never had a bad one and they are all delicious.
I'll second the 1502's. All three are great.
Emilio and CroMagnon have been mentioned elsewhere and are tasty as well.

If you're looking for rare and way under the radar, try Cabal cigars. Not even sure if they are in production yet. Got a sample at the Chattanooga Tweetup. Wow. Can't wait to try more.

Old school? Still love a Maria Mancini. Habano 2000 wrapper.

I second Cabal. Contacted them on Facebook. The owner sent me the 3 cigar sampler, t-shirts and stickers. The one I've smoked so far was awesome. They are through production. There starting to get out there. Try them. You won't regret it.

I've recently enjoyed La Perla Habana Black Pearl Torpedos. I know they're not new, but I got a box from the devil site for $40. A great stick on the cheap!

Cabal sounds like a must try smoke. Intriguing blend with tobacco from Peru and Pennsylvania in the mix.

I had my first El Original last night, a maduro from Island Smoke Shop. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't solidly in my wheelhouse. I guess it'd been built up a little too much to me by a couple fans. Perfect construction and nice med flavor. The finish was a little dry and it didn't have either the rich sweetness or zingy bite that I really love in a maddie. Solid cigar. I was just led to expect to be blown away. I do recommend that anyone give it a try - no doubt it will appeal to many.

One under the radar that I definitely am seeking more of: Terazona 305. All of Eddie Tarazona's cigars are extremely well made and have unique blends that appeal to everyone I've talked to that's tried them. To me, however, the 305 is outstanding. This is the rich, sweet, chocolatey maduro flavor with just a little zing that I love. The others I've tried, XTC and Classic are good in their own rights, but not perfect for me. The 305, however, is great.

Lempira. A Nicaraguan maduro. Deserves to stay under the radar. Pretty bland. uploadfromtaptalk1378780774219.jpg

I'll add El Titan de Bronze Redemption (SG and Maduro) and a few more...

Great Lakes Cigar Co. - Monster line
Reinado - Grand Empire Reserve
La Mia - Altantic Cigar store exclusive
Curivari - Cafe
Cordoba y Morales - Family Reserve
Regius - Quesada's blend
7-20-4 - 1874 Series

Interested to hear if anybody has purchased cigars from here: www.cigarstix.com/categories/boutique-stix.html
They're selection seems unique.
