You guys are so damn cynical sometimes. Why are they $4500? Seriously? Well lets see. Ummmm....cuz it comes in fancy wood thing with a super classy key that looks like it opens a pirate's treaure chest (that alone has to be worth $500 in itself.) But wait, that's not even the best part! You open the box and them boom - HAY! Aweome, just what my cigars always/never needed ever! And they are encased in individual tubes to boot. If that's not $4500 worth of value, then hell, I don't know what is. I tempted to mortgage my home and buy 18 of these. So here's the breakdown:
$1 in bubble wrap material
$10 in cigars
$10 in tubes for cigars
$500 in awesome treasure chest style key
$1000 in box
$2979 in super limited edition hay

Talk about a value! What are you doing still reading this? Hurry up and for the love of Christ buy like your life depended on it!

Well the retail price is $14,995.00. That's a huge savings of over 10,000! Someone should jump on them before I do!

I wouldn't pay $1 for any Ghurka. I don't care if it was rolled on a virgin's thigh, dipped in Louis XIII and put in a platinum tube, it's a turd no matter how you polish it!

Just the fact that Gurkha has a box of cigars that msrp's for 15k is enough of a reason to never smoke any of their garbage sticks.

I have smoked the HMR. My roommate is a tobaconist at a local shop and has quite a few Gurkha tattoos. Well he got to know Kaizad H. at the trade shows as well as our local B&M which Kaizad has visited. Long story short Kaizad gave him 5 HMR's and a limited edition Humidor which is beautiful. He gave me one cause well lets face it... who the hell would really pay that kind of money for it.

I put the stick up for quite a while and said I'd smoke it on a special ocasion. Well the day came when I decided to propose to my now Fiancee and smoke my HMR.

After reading all the reviews on it and having smoked the Grand reserve I didn't have much hope for it.

I smoked that thing down till I burnt my fingers and lip on it cause well it was a 800$ cigar. While I enjoyed this cigar a lot there is no way in hell it would ever be worth 800 to me. I could see this being a special ocasion cigar coming in around 50-100 but thats tops.

The thing I liked most about the cigar was that there was a nice balance between the cognac and the natural tobacco. While you smoke it you really taste the tobacco with subtle notes of the cognac in the background. I didn't have any of the issues expressed in multiple reviews about not being able to keep it lit. Too bad i'll never have another.

I can agree with that statement....

Just spit a mouthful out on that pic! Funny stuff. There seems to be a lot of hate in particular for Gurkhas. How cauz? Never had one and prob'l never will based on multiple accounts. And.... $4500? That is absurd and obscene.

I dont hate them.. there are a few I even find to be decent... although none are regular rotation sticks for me... and I find the normal B&M price for a gurkha to be extremely high (can find much better options for the same, or less money..)... but.. they (IMO) make decent "yard gars" or sticks to hand out to buddies that dont smoke... when you can pick up a box of castle halls for $39.99, etc..
