Anyone try a pre-release of this years Tatuaje TAA? It appears that it is a bigger ring gauge at 54..... I wonder how this will alter the flavor as compared to last years 50 ring gauge?

They are 6 3/8 x 54. I'm not sure about the blend though
They are the same blend as his 10 year that came out earlier this year.

From another website: Much of the 2013 Tatuaje release for the TAA is familiar, even if the blend won’t return until 2014. Last week at the 45th annual Tobacconists Association of America meeting and convention in the Dominican Republic, members of the retailer group had an opportunity to purchase a special 6 3/8 x 54 vitola featuring a covered foot and packaged in gold foil a la the rest of Tatuaje’s 10th Anniversary Brown Label style.
Pete Johnson confirmed to halfwheel that 2,500 boxes of 20 cigars are being produced with pricing once again being $11.00 per cigar, much like the 2011 and 2012 releases.

Me too. I love the TAA blends. I'll still get a box but I won't smoke them with as much enthusiasm! LOL!
IMHO it seams he is playing off TAA success of the last two years. If you can't release the actual TAA cigar blend why package one of your current brown label and call it TAA 2013 just so you can have a TAA in 2013?

These cigars are done specially for the TAA, it's not per say a "TAA blend", it's a TAA cigar. In fact, the "TAA blend" has been used before there was ever a TAA cigar (Pork Tendorloin, Barcley Rex). The TAA is a group of retailers and Pete has supported the TAA for many years. Doing a special cigar for the TAA is something that Pete has agreed to do the last three years. It is not a "current brown label" it is more in line with the blend of the 2 new 10 Year Anniversary blends in a size that is different than the other 2. Whatever the blend is, Pete uses a TAA band to identify the cigars, so technically he can do whatever he wants for the TAA and brand it as a TAA cigar.
I get that, but what I was getting at is the fact that if you have a TAA "blend" (Pork Tenderloin, Barcley Rex)and you have your 10th Anniversary Brown label why put TAA on it just to have a TAA for this year. What I was trying to get at was it feels like he was like "crap I don't have time to get the TAA "blend" (Pork Tenderloin, Barcley Rex) ready but I do have extra tobacco of that 10 Year Anniversary left over so I will just put the band on it an say well here you go here is TAA 2013"

You could have said that 2 years ago about the B-Rex/Tenderloin blend when he did the TAA too, right? as in.....
That he didn't have time to do a new blend but had extra tobacco of that B-Rex/Tenderloin leftover so I will just put the band on it and well here you go, here is the TAA 2011
Fact of the matter is we both can speculate why he did this or did that, I'd rather smoke the cigar and see for myself whether it is good or not. I can always smoke a 2011 or 2012 TAA if I want to smoke that particular blend
True but the B-Rex/Tenderloin did not come out in the same year as the TAA. I would buy a box of the Belle Encre just because(oh wait, too late). Them things are delicious.

I stand corrected as I don't know the blend of the two new 10th anniversary cigars. I was talking about the regular sized 10th anniversary cigars like the Cazadores etc. Those are the regular brown blend...

Is the Belle Encre a different blend than the brown label or just different size?
