I was smoking 2-3 a day and I found myself picking mostly strong and usually expensive ones because I can taste something from those.

Now I smoke every other day and a $4 stick is again enjoyable to me.

Okay so my girlfriend brought home this stuff called smart mouth from her dental office and problem solved. I can taste everything!! This stuff is amazing. And!!!! No cigar breath. It is insane but I literally can breath on someone 1 min after smoking a cigar and they can't tell I just smoked.

I tried SmartMouth for 24 hours once and it actually ruined my taste buds for a couple days. The Zinc, just like those Zinc cold lozenges, made everything taste horrible and metalic - food, coffee, beer, etc. Not sure how it will effect smoking, I won't be trying this stuff again. YMMV, but I'll stick with brushing, flossing, and gum.

To each his own. I don't get any metallic taste at all. Its just minty. And even that goes away quickly.

Just got back into it a few months ago myself, and all the advice here helps. 3 sticks in one day is probably too much as others have posted. Also, I think it helped to slow down the draw.

I stopped madly puffing the cigar as I tried to light and hold the foot as far away from the torch as I can.
Put the cigar down and rest a minute between draws. Enjoy the nasal aroma of the smoke. If you're new I'd wait on trying to retrohale, may be rough.

I brush and use smart mouth after, wash face with gentle cleanser, and hands with regular soap. Still on the lookout for better soap to remove the smell from my hands/face (someone here making an activated charcoal bar soap I think.

Enjoy.

Yup all good advice. Three in one day isn't all that much. At least not for me lol. Actually I used to only retrohail three times every third but after we had a discussion on hereI noticex a lot of guys do it every time so I started doing it every time thinking if so many people do it every time I should try it. They cant all be crazy. Within two days I was used to it, and let me tell you, best decision I ever made. And defiantly dont ever puff a cigar like they do in the movies while you light it. Haha. One or two slow smooth draws does the trick. I'm not so new as to not know how to light a cigar properly and smoke slowly but thank you for your info.

I experienced something a little different from over smoking. I can still taste the difference in cigars but get this annoying sour tatse on my tongue on EVERY cigar. I took a 1 day break and and it went away though.
