Haha. Did Forrest team up with New-Air? Not wanting to insult his craftsmanship, but can anyone see any clues as to why the shelves wouldn't be his or a rip off from the pictures? I have the 281 with his shelves and couldn't be happier i might add. Plus those look like the standard drawers and shelves ones with no facing, so I think if a guy did some easy peezy legwork you could buy the 2 separate and save some scratch. In fact, I'm going to go price it out right now....
LOL

Oh I know it's much more expensive, I'm just glad to see the market conforming (a little) to the needs of cigar smokers.

It is cool for someone who just wants to order one thing and plug it in without waiting for custom shelves.

$130 in drawers/shelves and $240 in the cooler is what that set up would cost. Plus, no false bottom drawer? C'mon! Buy em individually from Forrest and your cooler vendor of your choice and you get the craftsmanship and customizability from Forrest plus the good old 'Hey look what I built' feeling. And, I doubt that the cooler is 'aired out' to the lengths that we go thru before we put the Spanish cedar in there so as not to soak up the plastic-y smell.

Or, slap your card down once and it's shipped as a complete unit. To each their own.

Hi guys,
Yes, Newair approached me a while back and asked if we could get together on these. This is their first combination to sort of test the waters. There will be several different "sets" as they go forward. This is just one they wanted to start with. Pricing is always fun though. I ran the numbers (just saw their ad yesterday) and if you add in the freight from me and the RUSH fee to get it ASAP it actually works out a few bucks less to go with their setup. I've no idea if they took all that into consideration when pricing it or not. Not wanting to lose business here, just being honest about the prices. This gives folks either just starting out, or buying as a gift an option for a "right now" Wineador setup without any wait time.
It'll be an interesting endeavor. One of their goals is to eventually have them in Best Buy stores across the nation as well as their other distributors.
At that stage, I'll have hired on several folks as well as moved into a bigger shop which will help us all.
Just a little branching out :)

Well this is awesome! I love success stories like this. This is business and for folks that are wanting to set something up quick and I totally understand the business concept behind this and wish you well in this venture Forrest. In the end, the quality that you provide will end up providing benefits to NewAir because of that. Good luck with this Forrest and know that my cost estimate was pretty rough and didn't include shipping etc. Also, good to hear you've got some help in your shop!

I want to add that I meant no ill will in my previous posts. I will always stand by your quality product.

So, I just pulled the trigger on a NewAir AW-281E purchase, coincidentally enough, from Best Buy. I did some digging, found valid coupons for air-n-water.com as well as other retailers but Best Buy won with a huge margin.
My end cost breakdown is as follows:
$259.99 NewAir AW-281E @ bestbuy.com, w/ Free Shipping to store by my house
-$52.00 w/ coupon code "bestbuysave20" 20% off small electronics + 5x rewards points (valid thru 10/19)
+$15.13 tax, big brothers gotta get his... (with above discount, still cheaper than a non-tax site)
-$20.00 Best Buy Rewards (1040 points from 5x points part of code above)
-$11.15 5% return on Discover Card for going to bestbuy.com through their ShopDiscover portal
-$11.15 additional 5% return on Discover Card for quarterly promotion, 5% back on all web purchases
$180.82 FINAL COST, new from Best Buy. This kind of made the decision for me!
Besides, now I can custom order my drawers/shelves from Forrest exactly how I want them instead of just accepting what's in the box.
With this savings, I'll probably even opt for the hardwood fronts upgrade! :ccool:
Happy Shopping!

For those that are still looking, watch eBay. They are all over the place there. I got my newair181e for $200 and a newair281e for $135 shipped. It's worth a look if want to save some money for more sticks or nice humi-beads.

I searched everywhere for a cheaper way. And faster I ended up with a new air 281 & built my own drawers.I spent about the same as ordering from first and spent a good 10hrs working on her but I must say it was rewarding ! Also I drawer slides for support because I could just see a buddy open it and a drawer fall out.... that'd make for a bad day
