What's The Best Way to Add Water to Beads in Tubes?

On the heartfelt website it gives numerous ways to add moisture to the beads however, it does not provide a best practice for beads in their tubes. Thoughts?

I have one tube and I just take the end cap off, pour the beads in my small Tupperware container that's holding my other beads, hydrate them with distilled water, and then put back in the tube

If you can lay them out, I'd use a spray bottle with DW. I don't recommend pouring water on them.

Yup I use a spray bottle. If you add water disrect of submerge they tend to break and or explode. Just get a .99 hair sprayer in travel section of any major store. Works great.

put them in either a "media bag" or a bit of panty hose, then use a spray bottle dedicated to distilled water. easier to work with, and you can hackey sack with it if bored. o)

Definitely don't soak them; it washes out the salts that make the beads hold a constant relative humidity.

IMO, the best way to hydrate beads is to put a small wet sponge into the humidor and let the moisture diffuse into the beads (and cedar and cigars) for a few hours (or longer, if needed). I use a piece of sponge in a small plastic toothpick box. I use distilled water, but you don't really need to, since the only the H2O will evaporate and be absorbed into the beads. If you're uncomfortable putting the sponge directly into the humidor, you can put the beads and sponge into a small tupperware or ziplock.

I put mine in a tupperware with a shot glass of water, same as you would with the boveda packs. Be careful if you use a sponge you can develop mold

I thought that would happen, but it doesn't seem to. I inspect and/or sniff the sponge occasionally, and I wash it with soap every once in a great while, and it seems OK. Perhaps it contains some kind of mold inhibitor.
