A store not too far from from me is selling the Padron Millennium by the stick for $100 each. Is that too expensive? I've never had the cigar, so I am curious if anyone had it, and would like to give their opinion or take on it.

they were $20ish when they came out, IIRC, so they are NOT retail. then again, you ain't going to get any more of them ever...

1) i think halfwheel reviewed one a little bit back. their reviews are usually helpful to me.

2) oadron is known for using some old to really old tobaccos in their better stuff, so, due to that, their high end doesn't always age as well as you might expect.

3) if you do drop the coin, i hope you enjoy the hell out of it! and maybe drop us a review? o)

They tend to go for $40-50per stick on the secondary market, so this seems quite high.
From all reviews n reports Ive seen, they aren't worth the original msrp let alone the high prices now.

I've never had one, but have seen multiple reviews saying they are well past their prime. No way I would pay $100 for those.

I'm not paying $100 for any 1 cigar ever. Don't care what it is. But I have 2 young children and not a lot of disposable income. It may be worth it to someone else.

Personally no. Not when I could spend about that and get a whole box of something I know I really like. Ultimately it's your decision though and if you have the money to spend it would be a once in a lifetime kinda smoke...whether or not it ended up being awesome.

Its one of those things that is totally personal. We have all had moments that are made by great cigars ($$$ or not) Ive had moments with friends, or events (cigar related or not) that have been made by high end Ligas, Opus, Padron, or other rare HTF cigars. But at the same times ive had moments made by cheaper cigars that where all about the situation and not about the cigar. Ultimately its your call; ive never had a millennium but ive always wanted to try one; Ill probably be interested in one at the 40$ to 60$ mark but ill make sure that the moment makes the cigar, not the cigar making the moment.

If you decide that its what you want, pour a nice glass of something and make sure the situation dictates the light. Even a $$$ cigar alone to "savor the cigar" may leave you with a feeling that isn't in appropriate for the price tag (or justifies it to you).

Ill take the time that I have this week with other BOTL's at the herf on wednesday to smoke something that Ive been staring at in the humidor for months and waiting to light because I know that the company will make anything I light worth while (a valid excuse :) )
