Which 10-count(15-count at the most) plastic/ABS travel humidor is the best? Cigar Caddy, Herf-A-Dor, or Cigar Vault? They all look pretty much the same. Thanks.

Whichever is cheaper. They all seen to be decent as long as they keep the cigars protected and have a good seal. And I guess it also comes down to how it appeals the the consumer: You.

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
I tried 2 of the 5-count Herf-a-Dor and returned them both. They seemed to curl up at the ends and not seal. Was curious about the 10-count myself, if it was more substantial. Have any of you with the 10 had the 5 as well to give a comparison?

I have a 5, 10 & 40 count. Cigar Caddy and Herf a dor. Really the same, just with a different sticker on the front. Just as long as they are the 'Pelican Case' type design, you should be G2G.

If you plan on doing any traveling via airplane, choose one that has a pressure release.
I have never had any issues with this. But it would only be where there is and elevation drop to where you are flying to because of the atmospheric pressure increase. Most guys that have had this happen have had their troubles when they take a vacation to an island type destination and can't get theirs open. I supposed the worst would be if you flew from Denver to Jamaica as an extreme example. Also, if its just a 5 or 10 ct, take it with you in your carry-on and open it mid flight. The pressure in the cabin is usually higher than normal atmospheric pressure I think (don't quote me on this, and would like a pilot to verify)

This right here, I swear they are all the same just with a different sticker on it. If you want to find one at a deal go here and wait for them to pop up. They also have lighters on sale all the time. It use to be unholy cocktail and is now field and supply.

I went with a friend to the Dominican from Illinois one year and we had to pry his open.

Makes sense. Chicago is about 600' above sea level and DR is pretty close to sea level. Therefore a higher atmospheric pressure at DR than what was in your travel humidor was what made it difficult to open.
I was worried about this too when I ordered mine, but couldn't find a small one with pressure relief at the time. The 40ct I have does have it.

The trick to this is if you have cello on one of the sticks you let the folded flap stick out of the travel case slightly. Do that next time and you won't have to pry it open.

I've got a 5 and 40 count Cigar Caddy that work great. The funny thing is the 40 count is a disgusting yellow that they had on sale cheaper the 5 count. They must have been closing them out.

You don't need a pressure release valve. The Herf-a-Dor/Cigar Caddy 5/10/15 units all have a spot to out a coin and twist to pop them open:

Just insert and twist, and pop. Seal broken. Now you know! (And knowing is half the battle!)

Also, if you can find an older one with the more glossy finish, get it. It's made of ABS plastic. The newer ones with the matte finish are not, and do not seal as well and are more cheaply made. The parts are molded without as much precision. They still work, they're just not as nice.

Another thing to note is that the Xikar version is just a hair wider as has flat sides. The Otterbox style ones have just a bit of curve to them. Since I usually carry smaller sticks this doesn't bother me , but if you routinely carry longer or larger sticks, the Xikar version might be a better option. But it doesn't not have a release valve or coil slot... :)
