I finally got an e-mail from them saying that my XDS was being returned and fixed from the recall. I sent it in over 2 months ago. Cant wait to see how it is. One of my friends got his back 3 weeks ago and he said his trigger pul is not about 15 pound, I think he exaggerated, but he did say it was a LOT harder than it was when he sent it in. I should have it back by Friday. May have to find a couple minutes for some shootin this weekend.

Damn... That is still scary. That is a huge fail.. I love my XDM but damn.. I can't even imagine doubting that it might not be safe. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

No worries on safety, Rex. This was a very limited issue. No need to worry.

If anything, their guns are a little too "safe." Weird things can happen with them that prevents them from firing.

From what I've seen it would be difficult to make the malfunction occur but Springfield took a better safe than sorry approach? I think. I'm no gun expert, but what I have read happens is if your chambering a round and hold the gun a certain way the force of the slide slamming forward will cause the firing pin to strike. A buddy of mine and I spent like an hour trying to make this happen with his before he sent it in and all we got were a couple of slightly marked primers.

Yea my friend had a similar issue with his sks, firing pin got stuck in the forward position turning his gun full auto sounds fun but it was very annoying and dangerous

I got back my 2 XDS .45's about 2 weeks ago. I haven't shot them so I'll have to check out the trigger comment. I have a 9mm XDS purchased that the supplier had sent in for the recall and haven't gotten any word on when they expect it back so they can ship it to me. I really like the XDS. One is my conceal carry and one for the safe and the 9mm is just because I didn't own a 9mm. Gotta have at least 2 of everything!!!

Well, the eagle has landed, It arrived yesterday, and the trigger was just the same as it was when I sent it out. I was happy with that and Springfield even added one mag with the extended grip and one extra extension for my factory mag for free. I was very happy with that considering the extended mags run around 35 bucks on the net. I hope to get out this weekend and shoot it again. I was really upset when I found out there was a recall cause I wanted to make this my carry pistol, I was thinking about just trading it but now that I see how well the fix was handled and the trigger is good, I may be back on my original track.....
