If you upgrade, are you planning on selling the 7000? Still on the hunt for a decent shooter for my post Afghanistan road trip
As did I!! Oops hahaI thought this was a gun thread for a second lol.
I rented one of those when I went down to the Dover race to shoot for the track and fell in love with it! Pictures were clear and even race cars going 180 were so clear that you could read "Goodyear Eagle" on them and no blur whatsoever. Two weeks later, I went and bought one (with the wife's blessing of course). My next lens is a 24-70 f/2.8 for concert photography.picked up a 70-200 2.8 when I bought it
Sony 70-200 f/28Film: Leica Minilux, Nikon FM2, Rolleiflex 2.8F Planar, Hasselblad 503CM (I don't shoot film anymore so they are all in dry storage)
DSLR: Nikon D800
Nikon Glass: 20/2.8 AFD, 28/2.8 AIS (love this gem), 35/1.4 AFS, 50/1.4 AFD, 85/1.4 AIS, 135/2 DC, 70-200/2.8 VRII, TC-14E II
Zeiss: 100/2 ZF.2 Makro-Planar
Of all the glass I own, I use the 50mm the most, followed by the 135 and then the 100. If I'm doing street people photography (or on nature hikes), I use the gun 70-200 (not discreet, but it suits my style of shooting). I really love the D800. It was a huge step up from the D700 in terms of image resolution. I am truly amazed by it. The 35mm sits mostly as I shoot a lot of portraits (family) of late. Not a big fan of that angle on faces, though can be used to great effect. Great travel lens. That 28 I mentioned is amazing. You can get within an inch or two of your subject and at such a wide angle affords some pretty cool imagery. Can be had pretty cheap on the used market.
I used to shoot a lot of film and loved the Rolleiflex. Really cool camera and the Zeiss glass is amazing! The Hassie was fun too, but was used more for landscapes and tripod use.
Curious to know what others like in terms of glass... It really is the key to great photography, aside from the users' input!
